For home defense purposes, I decided to mount the Streamlight TLR-6 on my 1911. The installation process was straightforward, and the light mounted securely to the trigger guard, fitting snugly against the bottom of the frame. After firing a hundred rounds at the range, I was pleased to see that the TLR-6 remained securely fixed on my firearm. The ambidextrous on/off switch is perfectly positioned for easy access with my weak hand. The light itself is bright, but not overwhelmingly so. It has three settings: light on, laser on, and light and laser on, which can be selected by squeezing both left and right side on/off switches simultaneously. Based on my experience at the range, I have decided to opt for the light on without the laser. This was my first experience with a mounted laser sight, and I know some might question the point of having the laser if it's not going to be used. However, the laser must be zeroed in at a specific distance. This can be chosen by the user, based on their specific situation. Once the laser is zeroed in at that distance, the firearm is set for that distance. If an intruder is in the home and needs to be neutralized, the laser can be used to guide the shot, and the round will impact at that point provided the perpetrator is standing at that specific distance. However, if the perpetrator is closer or farther away than the zeroed-in distance, the round may impact higher or lower than the point of the laser, and there is a risk of missing altogether. I was surprised at how much of a difference even a few feet made one way or the other at the range. However, these are my personal experiences, and opinions may differ. Ultimately, the decision to use a laser or not is up to the individual user. Overall, the Streamlight TLR-6 is a well-made, solid light that I would recommend for home defense purposes.

Finally, a laser light combo that caters to us 1911 handgun owners who have been waiting for a light/laser for our rail-less firearms. The Streamlight TLR-6 is an ingenious solution that offers a simple and secure attachment to the trigger guard of the handgun. While the installation process was straightforward, I found the lack of instructions on assembling the two pieces around the trigger guard a bit tricky. However, with a little perseverance, I was able to get it onto my pistol without any issues. Once installed, the TLR-6 was tightly secured to the firearm and had no play at all. The brightness of the light was surprisingly impressive, making it more than adequate for nighttime illumination in home defense situations. The light and laser can be used together or separately, and everything is straightforward and easy to operate. The TLR-6 uses unique batteries that may not be cheap, but the good news is that they can be easily replaced via a small trap door located underneath the unit, without needing to remove it from the firearm. This is a well-designed feature that I found very convenient. I have yet to try the TLR-6 with live ammunition, but I have high hopes that it will hold its zero and remain tightly secured to the firearm. With a lifetime warranty, the TLR-6 gives me peace of mind knowing that I can rely on it in any situation. Just make sure to register your TLR-6 to take advantage of the lifetime warranty.

I recently purchased this 1911 flashlight and laser and have been very impressed with their performance. The light and laser are both excellent, with the light being exceptionally bright and well-suited for indoor use. The controls are easy to use and intuitive, making it simple to operate the flashlight and laser. The mount was also easy to install and the laser was zeroed without any adjustments. So far, I've only had the opportunity to take it to the range once, but it has performed flawlessly through 150 rounds. The only downside is that it does add a bit of bulk and weight to the gun, which may require new holsters if you use it as your everyday carry firearm. Overall, a great product that has exceeded my expectations.

I have this light on my Remington R1 45 ACP. I use this for home defense, so it stays ready at all times. It is a great light for this purpose. It does not work well for concealed carry. With the light installed, it matches the pistole perfectly and looks and works great.

I bought this to use on a 1968 Colt Lightweight Commander .38 Super pistol that I purchased new and have been shooting for years. My old eyes are having a difficult time with the iron sights, so it was time for a laser. The laser and light combination are just what I need. It was easy to install and sight in and has held zero. I am happy with the purchase.

I got it when they were on sale. I installed this on a Springfield Armory pistol. Fit is perfect. The laser required no adjustments when shooting at 7 yards. The light works fine also. Challenging to find a holster that I like but I don't use this as a carry gun. I use it as a nightstand gun.

I zeroed the laser to the iron sights at 40 feet. My Commander is deadly accurate. I then bought a second one for a friend—great addition to a great gun. Nothing beats a 1911 in .45 ACP.

I purchased this for my Ruger SR1911 10mm. It was easy to install. The laser was spot on with no adjustment at 25ft. The light is bright enough to use in close quarters. The design fits the trigger guard nicely and sleek. The on/off switch is positioned nicely for ease of use. I did have to buy a different holster, with the light installed did not fit my old holster. Very nice for the price.

I never thought that I would be able to get a light laser for this firearm. the Streamlight tlr-6 1911 light is bright and the lasers precise. Awesome fit and a great accessory for this micro firearm, love it so much a wore the battery out in a week.
