I used a cheap light from Amazon, but its unintuitive actuation and persistent strobe mode frustrated me. Then I found the Streamlight tlr1hl, a widely recognized weapon mounted light for handguns. Surefire X300 is another popular option, but it's about twice the price of Streamlight, and I don't necessarily find it twice as good. Streamlight offers 1000 lumens, which effectively illuminates targets to the point it feels like daytime. Contrary to concerns about too much light blinding users, I've never faced any issues, even when testing indoors. The Streamlight's price advantage becomes even more evident when purchasing multiple units, as three Surefire X300s would cost around $1000. The actuation of the Streamlight is ambidextrous and user-friendly. I've programmed mine not to use the strobe mode as I prefer having total control over the light's operations. The light also adds weight to the muzzle end of the handgun, which can help reduce muzzle rise. Furthermore, its size ensures the pistol's slide remains in battery during close combat. In summary, the Streamlight tlr1hl does everything I need at half the price of some competitors. Though this video was longer than planned, I'm curious to know your preferred weapon mounted lights. I use the light on my Glock 19 duty pistol. Everybody wanted to stand next to me during nighttime qualification. The 1000 lumens is incredibly bright and creates a great site picture for target acquisition.

Originally had the streamlight tlr-1 hl mounted on my wife's Beretta PX4 Storm, but she didn't like it on her gun, so I installed it on my AR. Sure lights up the night. I've taken the light itself and tried it in my backyard, and it lights up my entire backyard. The strobe feature is the icing on the cake. It would take away someone's night vision. I haven't tried it in the field yet so well see how it stands up but so far, I'm sold on it.

Hello, I am lucky enough to own "4" of these Streamlight tlr-1 hl lights. Two handgun platforms, an AK & Ar platforms. The rifles have remote pressure switches. The lights are well made, easy to attach & remove. Well made & extremely bright. Years ago, I used the older bulb versions of Streamlight & the difference is unbelievably better. The older lights cost me twice as much. If you are planning on getting one, do it soon, as the price on them has been climbing since my first one.

The streamlight tlr-1 hl is a great light, super bright, and has a great and rugged feel. I out this light on my Glock 19, and it did make the gun feel bulky or heavy in any way like some other lights. Great functionality for home defense, hunting, or for any tactical situation you're in. I also liked the fact that Streamlight also includes the batteries in the packaging, which is a huge bonus to me.

I've got three of these Streamlight tlr 1 hl lights, two of which are the 800 Lumen HL model. The quality is top-notch! It comes with everything you need to adapt and mount it to just about any pistol with a dust cover rail. The controls are intuitive and easy to reach. It throws an excellent wide beam that floods the area in front of the shooter with bright white light. I particularly like the strobe option the HL has.

great product will mount to any rail. Light in weight, this is without a doubt one of the brightest rail mount lights you will find. i like them so much; I own 8 of them. I have never had any problems with any of them. They come with everything you need to mount. And replacement batteries are affordable.

I recently purchased the Streamlight TLR-1 HL (in FDE) from MSP. I bought this as an addition to my Sig Sauer P220R. The first thing that I noticed (aside from the fast shipping) is that it was the newer 800-lumen model. After reading the instructions and changing the key, the installation was a snap. The light stays solidly mounted to the pistol, and the controls are easily accessible as well as easy to manipulate. I haven't fired the pistol with the light mounted yet, but I am looking forward to it. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend it.

I have had this Streamlight TLR 1 HL light kit on my AR for a few months now. The set up is very simple to operate, and the light itself is extremely bright; without fog or excess humidity, it will illuminate targets over 100 yards away. The kit comes with both the standard backplate and pressure plate adapter so you can use it either way you prefer. The strobe feature works as expected. I have had no issues with the pressure pad being too stiff or accidentally activated. Overall great product and great company, I plan to buy again for other rifles.

I have had the Streamlight TLR-1 HL for about two years. I have never found a better value to complete my home defense handgun (S&W M&P full frame 9mm). At this price point, this light includes the two things you need. A blinding light that will illuminate the room and the target area, and the strobe that will disorient any individual who makes eye contact with the sun. I learned this while practicing in my home and inadvertently shining the light in my mirror. Wow! I don't care for lasers, so this light is everything I want at an excellent price. In my opinion, in a defense situation in my home, I don't need or want a laser. Hit the target with the blinding light and unload all 17 rounds. Reload and repeat if necessary.

This is a fantastic Tactical Gun Light for an even better price. It's precisely what I wanted. The Streamlight TLR-1 HL is the way to go. It is not too bright for indoor use, and it works great for external application also. The strobe feature is impressive on the light. It's sturdy and durable. I highly recommend this light over others. It's also easy to mount and dismount.
