Goe's right on in minutes, sturdy, and looks good.
Was Concerned About It Being Plastic...Not Anymore....
I have this rail mount installed on my Maverick 88 12ga and after shooting over 100 rounds, the mount has remained secure. The installation process was easy, and despite initial concerns about its plastic construction, it has held up well without any indication of potential issues. In fact, its lightweight construction is a bonus, and it won't scratch the receiver either. As a frequent shooter, I've had no issues with this mount and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable and straightforward rail mount system for their shotgun.
Easily installed!
I installed this product on my Maverick 88 and it fit perfectly! I highly recommend it. The installation process was quick and easy, taking me less than 10 minutes. You don't need a gunsmith to mount this product. The instructions are straightforward: use a hammer with the correct size punch to drive out the trigger group pin. Then place the mount over the receiver and push through the threaded bolt, tightening with the provided 1/8 Allen wrench into the hex nut. Be sure not to over-tighten! Next, with the slide action open, remove the ejector screw and replace it with the button head ejector screw. Tighten with the 3/32 Allen wrench. Place the knurled nut onto the tip of the ejector screw and tighten it. Finally, thread the nylon screw into the hole on top with the 3/32 Allen wrench. After firing, double check to see if anything needs tightening or just use a little blue loctite. It's that simple!
Best Mount Ever
The installation of this mount took me about ten minutes, but I prefer to take my time to avoid damaging anything. The instructions provided were very detailed, and the rail has ample space to fit my reflex sight and a red dot laser just in front of it. There's also enough room to easily take the laser's push button or remote power switch on and off. And let me tell you, this mount is SOLID. It fits perfectly with the shotgun and looks like a natural part of it. I absolutely love this item and would highly recommend it to anyone, especially those like me who have a Mossberg Maverick 88 Tactical and have a hard time finding any kind of top rail.
Good Mount
I purchased this product for my Maverick 88 shotgun, and it fits perfectly. It allowed me to add a reflex red dot, which I now need due to being 61 with medical issues and not having youthful eyes. Installing it was a breeze, and it looks great on the shotgun. In my opinion, it doesn't detract from the gun's form or functionality at all. The mount stays solidly in place, and I haven't noticed any movement. At first, I wasn't sure if I'd like having this large mount on my shotgun, but I don't even notice it now. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase.
Easy installation on Mossberg 500 Tactical
I purchased this product to mount a red dot scope on top of my Mossberg 500 shotgun, and it was incredibly easy to install. Although I am not a gun expert and have no knowledge of the inner workings of my shotgun, I was able to remove the pins and screw and add this mount with ease. Initially, it was a little nerve-wracking with the included parts, but everything worked as intended. I haven't fired the gun with the mount yet, so I'm not sure how stable it is, but it feels secure when I pull on it. The only concern I have is that it's made of plastic, and I typically avoid putting plastic on my guns. However, the mount seems solid, and as long as the rail on top doesn't chafe or shred apart when I fire, everything should be fine.
OLDER MOSSBERG 500A 12 GA (PERFECT PRODUCT)
I own a few MOSSBERG 12-gauge shotguns, some of which are from 1996. These models have short magazine tubes and barrels, and it's difficult to add rear sights without drilling, loctite, and taking a chance. However, this product is the perfect solution for adding rear sights to your MOSSBERG. It comes with all the necessary instructions and tools to make the conversion simple. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the finish and the overall look of the product. I've shot about 250 heavy load custom 12-gauge slugs through the gun since installing this rear sight mount, and I haven't had to make any adjustments to the sights or mount. I know that there's also a metal option available, but I find the material used in this product to be completely acceptable for my needs. I'm not a seasonal hunter; I use my shotgun every chance I get, so I need a product that can stand up to heavy use. I'll post pictures once my new tactical scope and forends come in. Overall, you get what you pay for, and this product is worth every penny, especially for real MOSSBERG 500A enthusiasts. I have no problem providing a positive review for this product. Just be careful when placing the screws to avoid cross-threading them.
Not only a good product but a great customer service.
I purchased this mount for my Mossberg shotgun, an old one that I use for hunting. It fit great except for one screw head being too tall, which caused the gun to malfunction. I contacted Weaver and their tech support called back to discuss the issue. After researching it, they got back to me and said that a few Mossbergs over the years had the same problem, but it was an unusual issue. They offered to refund my money, but I wanted it to work. They then offered to advise me on modifying the screw so that it would work, which involved taking a file and bringing the head of the screw down a half millimeter or so. They sent me a bag with four extra screws at no charge so that I could try again if I messed up. They also left the offer open to refund it even after I tried to fix it myself if I was still unhappy with the solution. I deal with customer support daily in my job and have to say I was impressed with Weaver's service. Although they were busy when I first called, they called me back and followed up twice more to make sure everything was working out. Everyone I spoke with seemed knowledgeable about the process and the gun. They had sample guns of all the models that they could pull down and walk through the process with a customer, making the troubleshooting process easier since we were both looking at a similar gun. The technicians and manager I spoke with were all about fixing or resolving the issue and very friendly throughout the two-day period. Other than the screw issue, which is supposedly rare, I really like the mount. It only took about 4 or 5 minutes to install it, and it was very easy to do with the included hex tool and my own supplied punch and hammer.
Weaver No-Gunsmith Converta Shotgun Mount - Mossberg 500, 835 (12 Gauge Only) Gloss Black
To start with, I want to mention that I am not a gunsmith and I don't have professional expertise or formal training in firearms. I own a Coast-to-Coast Master Mag CC880 shotgun by Mossberg, which is the Model#500 exactly, and everything is interchangeable. Coast-to-Coast was a small town farming hardware store in the Pacific Northwest in the 1980s, which eventually became either Ace or True-Value. Coast-to-Coast paid Mossberg to copyright their store franchise onto the Model#500 shotgun. I purchased my shotgun at a local show for $250. Since my shotgun is from the 80s, it doesn't have pre-drilled Picatinny-Weaver scope mount holes on top of the receiver, as the newer synthetic-polymer carbon-fiber Model#500 shotguns have. It also came with a vent-rib all-purpose full-choke barrel, which had no standard bead or rifle, combat, or ghost sights on it. So, instead of drilling holes into the shotgun's receiver, which could potentially damage or devalue the gun, I sought out an aftermarket alternative to add an optics mount to my shotgun. After searching online for hours, days, and weeks, I found that there were basically only two different optic mounts to choose from with this one, one of them made by Aimtech. I had some expectations that needed to be met, from durability and performance to quality and cosmetic appearance. I wanted it to look beautiful as if it was meant to be on there in the first place, and nothing outlandish as if it wasn't meant originally to be with the shotgun. The Aimtech mount version looked noticeably weird/non-original and alien to the shotgun from product pictures, although it was made out of better aluminum-alloy metal/steel. In contrast, the mount that I purchased, which is made out of anodized synthetic-polymer, was ergonomically and fashionably inclined, as if the manufacturer of this mount had a Mossberg by his side when he designed it, because it literally fits perfectly without any spacing between the mount and the shotgun, and slipped instantly on without any hassle or scratching to the finish of the shotgun receiver (mine is black-steel). I purchased and went with this mount over the Aimtech version and do not regret it at all. I have seen only good reviews of this product, so this raises my hopes that it will last for a long time to come. I cannot contest either way to the Aimtech version, but this one is all I want and need. This product comes packaged with everything you need, and originally, I was suffering anxiety because I had never done this before. But all that went away once everything was before my eyes. It only took me about 3-4 minutes tops to install this. It's simple: 1) cock the slide back, 2) unscrew the button head ejector screw with a flat-head screwdriver through your open cartridge-ejection port, 3) lay the shotgun on the floor or in your lap, 4) take a hammer and a small fitting screwdriver and gently tap out the original/stocked trigger/receiver pin, 5) place the mount on, 6) screw in first your new button head ejector screw, which holds the mount in place while you do the next step, from the package, 7) screw/put in your new trigger/receiver pin from the package (it will only screw in a tiny way with the fitting hex-allen wrench before friction stops it!) and then gently hammer the pin through until the screwed edge of the pin reaches the inside of the shotgun's receiver screw-pin hole, and use the correct hex-allen wrench to tighten/screw it through the rest

Simple as stated,works perfect
it is
Only takes about 4 mins to mount... If not less. Very nice add on. A little problem with the screw not clearing the action but can be fixed.
pretty good
Overall a quality product however the included screw to replace the stock elevator screw needed modification because It head did not clear the action. Besides this, it was a smooth install.
