The safety is large and your whole thumb fits on. There is no mistaking if it is on or off. Make sure the action is open when changing the safety or it will fall into the receiver (watch the video). The reason for the 4 stars is the “points” on the back of the safety. I am using this on a Shockwave. Depending on how you are holding the gun, these points can dig into your thumb. Nothing that a little sandpaper could not fix. This is definitely an improvement over the OEM safety.

Whether I'm wearing gloves, or it's dark and I can't see the lever, it doesn't matter. This thing was a massive improvement over the stock safety lever. I locked the action back on the shotgun, made sure the safety was engaged, got the factory screw out, and put this lever on in its place. I think it took all of about three minutes start to finish. Now I have a safety lever that is easy to use, doesn't bind up like the factory one did, and makes the gun a lot more safe and usable.

Much better than the stock safety. Good design and works great. Excellent from any of the "ready" positions.

I will say I was skeptical about this safety at first when looking at it, but after installing, I have to say well done. It feels very ergonomic against your thumb when engaging/disengaging. We will see how it holds up in the TSG Class in a few weeks. Thanks for a Texas made Product and hope you have a great Christmas

This mossberg 500 safety is Easy to install, feels very ergonomic, and looks totally badass. Checks off all the boxes on my end! I would recommend installing over a gun mat because you can easily lose the detent ball when switching out the safeties.

i love this safety. it is unquestionably an improvement for what i use this shotgun for - blanks and plastic slugs for beehive home defense. make sure to watch the video to make it easier to install or you might be sorry. this is made of an alloy it is not plastic. switching on and off can be made nearly silent by pushing down when switching. the size makes it easy to find and easy to switch with either hand. if i had to give one warning it is that the safety is large enough to catch on brush or clothing. so as always, be safe and take care with firearms.

Works Great

With a pistol grip on my Mossberg 500, I was helpless to reach the safety on the shotgun easily. This Mossberg 500 safety was installed with just a screwdriver in minutes, and it changed the gun. I can easily reach the safety now where it was virtually impossible before. It's attractive and ergonomic and well built. I absolutely would recommend this to anyone in the same position!

I put two of these CDM Gear Delta Wave Safety on each of my boys' Mossberg 500. There is not much more surface area to accommodate a quicker safety deactivation for dove hunting. The original plastic safety was east to pry upward and break it off. I then used needle-nosed pliers to extract the one-way flathead screw. Now both young teenage boys can now quickly and swiftly activate/deactivate the shotgun safety: the Delta Wave Good product and outstanding design.

I have been shooting, smithing, outfitting, spending many thousands on shotgun accessories thru these many years. This Safety, without a doubt one of the coolest and most useful upgrades I’ve found for any gun!! It is a 1000% improvement over the absurd Safety that comes stock on the Mossberg. It is simple to install for even a novice. It provides you more control over an essential feature, and I can’t think why it took so long for someone to come up with this. THANK YOU!! This item is low-priced, easy to install yourself, a huge improvement in safety, useable with or without gloves... the only drawback is that I only have 2 500’s to put these on!!!
