Customer Ratings & Reviews
trijicon rm01 review
I am not experienced in using this item, but I wanted to share my initial thoughts. Being an expensive product, I hope it lives up to its price. After going through several reviews, I decided to buy one for turkey hunting and mounted it on my shotgun. I calibrated it at home and aligned the red dot slightly above the front bead. At the range, I tested it at 10 yards with a turkey choke and found that the point of impact was 2 inches low and 1 inch left of my point of aim. I made the necessary adjustments and was pleased to see that the shots were spot on, hitting the center of the target every time. Pros (so far): The product comes in a high-quality hard case. The glass is clear, the dot is visible at lower settings, and it is easy to zero in. The build quality is rugged and aesthetically pleasing on my shotgun. It is simple to find the preferred illumination setting with the + or - buttons, and there are multiple brightness options. The field of view is small, but adequate, and I can shoot with both eyes open. The target acquisition is quick, and the windage and elevation adjustments are easy. The magnification is 1x. Cons (so far): To change the battery, I need to remove the optic from the gun. The + and - illumination buttons are not prominent and require significant force to push. The dot may appear distorted at higher settings. My initial rating for the optic is 5, even though I deducted 1 point each for the battery and illumination button issues. The cons, in my opinion, are minor and do not warrant a lower rating.
Good things come in small packages
I have a deep appreciation for Trijicon. I previously used an ACOG on my M4, but the magnification was not ideal for close-quarters combat. As I am getting older and my eyes are not as quick to adjust focus as they used to be, the RMR was exactly what I needed. The MOA is actually 3.25, making it even more precise than the listed 4.0 MOA. I am using an American Defense QD co-witness mount, with the iron sights in the lower 1/3 of the sight glass, as they should be. I chose the self-adjusting model (which was also more affordable), and have not found the need to manually adjust it. The sight has worked perfectly, automatically adjusting its brightness as I move between light and dark environments. The RMR comes in a clear Pelican case and is much smaller than I expected, barely weighing an ounce. Despite its size, it has a good amount of glass, and I shoot with both eyes open, so all I need is the red dot superimposed on my target. The absence of an on-off switch is also a plus, as it eliminates the risk of forgetting to turn it on when needed. The only potential drawback is that the underside of the unit is completely open and the battery compartment is located on the bottom, requiring removal of the sight from the mount to change the battery (which is recommended once a year). Despite this, the exposed underbelly of the sight seems sturdy and I would not hesitate to use it in normal conditions, just not in water. Overall, this tiny sight delivers big performance and I highly recommend it.
Extremely satisfied. Here's some context on other reviews and their ...
I am thoroughly satisfied with my purchase. For those considering purchasing based on other reviews, here is some additional context: One concern mentioned in other reviews is that the sight is always on. In my opinion, this is actually a positive aspect as it is always ready to use. Other models may use tritium for night illumination, but eventually the tritium wears out and the battery must be replaced. To ensure long battery life, simply store the sight in a dark place, such as a safe. Another concern is that the battery is exposed on the bottom. To address this, I paired the sight with a ZEV Tech Gen 4 slide and used a stainless steel gasket supplied by Zev to secure the seal. I also added a small piece of electrical tape for extra protection. I have had no issues with the red dot dimming and am confident in its water-tightness. I paired this RMR with Trijicon Suppressor sights and lined the dot up just above the front sight. I was able to shoot a 1-inch group dead-center on the bullseye at 20 yards using factory Winchester whitebox ammo. I used a bit of blue loctite on the mounting screws for added security and have had no issues with POI shift or the sight coming loose. I found the 3.25 MOA option to be the perfect balance between quick target acquisition and precise aiming, and the size of the sight matches the rear and front sights for a familiar and natural feel. While the price may be a bit steep, the sight is rugged, reliable, and adaptable to a variety of weapon systems. Plus, Trijicon's warranty offers peace of mind.
Fantastic red dot for a pistol! Fits the Glock 41 MOS (Fits All Glock MOS variations) without issues.
I recently added this to my Glock 41 MOS and the shooting experience has been transformed. The fast and effortless target acquisition has left others envious of my pistol. If you're in the market for a top-notch red dot, this one is definitely worth considering. I use it regularly at the police academy where I instruct 3 gun ranges, and it has held up well to daily wear and carry. One of the things I appreciate about this sight is that it's always on, eliminating the need to worry about turning it on or off during concealed or open carry. Additionally, my sights are not the standard OEM, they are high-rise Trijicon night sights that align perfectly with the red dot for optimal accuracy. This is especially useful in case the red dot battery happens to die without me realizing it. As an instructor, I find that having the red dot aligned with the sights makes it easier to teach sight alignment and picture to my students. The rounded corners also prevent any snagging or cutting, as demonstrated in the second photo where I use it on the job.
Buy once cry once
I have long been told, "buy once cry once". I honestly have to agree in this case. The improvements made in Trijicon's 2nd generation RMR sights make these rugged and reliable. I have about 6k rounds through mine on rifle and pistol, and I haven't had one issue. The footprint is consistent and mates without issue. The battery issues of old have been solved and the reticle is always there. I know that everytime I pick this thing up it will be on and ready. What else can you ask for in such a small package.
Just get it.
If you know Trijicon products, then, you know the quality your paying for here. If not, you don’t know what you’re missing. Yes, this is an expensive sight. However, if you’re looking for a Mini red dot that will last a lifetime for most folks and put up with real-world abuse, this is it. If you want to put something on a blinker, go with a lesser sight and save some money. If you’re looming for quality, it’s hard to beat Trijicon.
Best of Min Red Dot Sight
The Trijicon RMR is the industry standard when it comes to slide-mounted red dot sight. Red dot is a savior to aging eyes. Mounted on Glock MOS, I am able to acquire target and send rounds down range quickly. Results have been great. Because I can quickly acquire targets, I can rapid fire and keep all rounds in the black It helps with polymer pistols which are light and can get off target if you don’t concentrate on the target. RMR makes this task a whole lot easier.
This Red Dot Sight Is Awesome
The Rrijicon 3.25 red rmr type 2 is nothing short of incredible. I appreciate this red dot sight more and more every day. I purchased it to mount on my Glock 34 MOS and the installation was straightforward. (I recommend getting the Trijicon RMR Mounting Kit for Glock MOS if you plan on doing something similar). The fit and finish are what you would expect from Trijicon, and the battery life is exceptional. The 3.25 MOA reticle is clear and easy to pick up. It takes a bit of practice to get used to it but, once I did, I can see why RMRs are so popular. I highly recommend this product.
The trijicon rmr is the Industry Standard
This RMR gets a 10 out of 10. Once mounted, I was able to quickly dial in for 10 yards and in no time figured out my hold over and was hitting steel at 100 yards. I definitely will be training with this optic for cqc style training. The dot is obvious and helps with target acquisition and sped me up with multiple target engagements.
A bright clear red dot
From the time I purchased online, I had it in less than a week. No hassle just good business. The sight is great quality, crisp and clear, very well built. I was a little hesitant about spending that much money on a backup sight but after I mounted it and sighted it in I was glad I did
Trijicon rmr type 2 3.25 moa
Got this RMR Type 2 for my new FN 509 Tactical. It fits great and looks fantastic. Got the LED v/s the adjustable as I figured it's one less thing to mess with or break. 3.25 MOA is the right way to go. Seems durable but will see with time. I was psyched to get this to the range.
Trijicon rm01 type 2 on my on my FNX 45 Tactical
This RMR was placed on my FNX 45 Tactical. I zeroed it using the Arma Dynamic Trijicon RMR 10 yard Zero Target which you can print from the Arma Dynamic web page for FREE. It took me about four shots until I was knocking the Bulls Eye out of the target. I then transitioned to shoot at Hog silhouettes made of steel at about 50 yards with hit after hit. So far, I have been very pleased with the accuracy. There is a slight learning curve using the Red Dot vs. Iron Sights. However, after you get the hang of it, there is no problem. Just confidence that you will hit what you place the red dot on. We have a significant problem with feral hogs here in Texas, and this RMR Sight will augment my capability of dispatching these four-legged varmints.
