Trijicon RCR Adjustable LED 3.25 MOA Red Dot - Ruggedized Closed Reflex

The Trijicon RCR emerges as an extraordinarily rugged and reliable closed emitter optic, robust enough to satisfy the rigorous demands of military and law enforcement operations. Being the next progressive stage of the renowned Trijicon RMR, the RCR upholds its legendary durability while amplifying the precision and accuracy across any firearm style or caliber, irrespective of the environmental context.

Proudly standing in the Trijicon lineage, the RCR boasts the ability to resist direct impacts and persevere in the most severe conditions, all the while offering improved precision and a commendable field of view. The Trijicon RCR accomplishes all these feats without necessitating additional or new mounting plates, since it seamlessly incorporates with the current RMR bolt pattern and mounts directly, eliminating the need for a dovetail. Thus, the Trijicon RCR seamlessly blends performance and adaptability, taking the optics technology to the next level.

    Features and Benefits

    • OPTIMIZED FOR VARIOUS PLATFORMS, NO EXTRA MOUNTING PLATES REQUIRED
The Trijicon RCR™ comes with a unique, patented mounting system that allows the optic to align with the Trijicon RMR® footprint seamlessly.
    • ROBUST, PATENTED CAPSTAN SCREW
Our patented RCR mounting bolts offer a resilient and straightforward mounting solution that curbs over-tightening, cross threading, and potential screw head stripping.
    • MAINTAINS RMR DECK HEIGHT
The design allows compatibility with Iron Sights that adhere to the RMR specifications.
    • USER-FRIENDLY WINDAGE AND ELEVATION ADJUSTMENTS
No special tools are necessary, with each click representing a 1 MOA adjustment.
    • DESIGNED FOR EXTREME CONDITIONS
Constructed from 7075-T6 aluminum and coated with hard anodize, the RCR is built to thrive under any circumstances.
    • CONVENIENT TOP LOADED BATTERY
The CR2032 battery guarantees six years of continuous operation at Setting 5.
    • EXEMPLARY DURABILITY
Retaining the unique patented housing shape of the RMR in a closed emitter version, it continues to divert impact forces away from the lens. This design not only increases drop survivability but also facilitates one-handed slide manipulation while keeping the elements at bay.
    • ENHANCED ELECTRONICS AND BUTTONS
The reinforced battery contacts and electronics provide reliable performance even in harsh environments, coupled with easily identifiable and accessible adjustment buttons.
    • TRUE-COLOR, MULTI-COATED LENS
The wide-band light transmission guarantees minimal alteration in the color of the target area.

The RCR, designed for those who value the extra protection offered by enclosed-emitter optics, encapsulates many of the same qualities of the RMR and RMR HD but with an additional layer of safeguarding against impacts and weather conditions. Powered by a single CR2032 battery, the RCR brags of an impressive six-year battery life at mid-range settings in a standard room temperature environment. It also houses ten distinct brightness settings, incorporating three for night vision and a super bright mode.

Standardizing the RCR with a 3.25 MOA dot, one of the striking aspects is its compatibility with the RMR footprint. The challenge of incorporating closed-emitter optics with RMR footprints has always revolved around the screws as having them go through a sealed unit creates a significant engineering hurdle. Trijicon triumphed over this issue by employing capstan screws, uniquely designed with holes in the head, allowing them to be twisted from the side as opposed to the top.

Though capstan screws can be harder to source and could pose further problems if you over-torque, they retain the prevalent footprint. This is a crucial feature for those with milled slides. The RCR's viewing window mirrors the size of the HD; it neither claims the title for the largest nor the smallest optic window we've encountered, but for closed optics, it's one of the more generous ones. It's worth mentioning that the RCR matches the deck height of the RMR and RMR HD, maintaining the same compatibility with back-up irons.

    An improvement over its predecessors

    5 out of 5

I have to say, it's definitely an improvement over its predecessors, the RMR and SRO models. I find that it's been crafted to tackle the flaws found in those earlier models. What really sets the RCR apart is its top-loading battery, an enclosed emitter for robust protection against dust and dirt, and a generously sized window that significantly enhances sight. Interestingly, the RCR manages to keep the same height as the RMR, which makes it very convenient for anyone accustomed to the older model. Plus, it fits perfectly on the same mounts. The RCR also boasts of easy-to-navigate push-button controls, ten brightness settings, and a crisp, non-blue reticle. I can't help but stress on the durability of this device. I put it through a series of strenuous tests, and it came out on the other side without losing zero or breaking. From my perspective, the use of a dot comes with its own set of advantages, such as improved accuracy, speed, and focus on both the target and background. However, I do have to acknowledge that the cost, which stands on par with the firearm it's mounted on, could be a sticking point for many users.
