Texas Weapon Systems Dog Leg Rail Gen III - AKM, AK-47 / 74 Top Cover & Scope Mount

Keeping your shots on target is what it’s all about. Whether you require the quick target acquisition of a red dot or the range of a magnified optic, the Gen-3 Dog Leg TM scope rail has you covered. Mounted directly over the receiver, the patented Dog LegTM scope rail with integral dust cover provides optimal balance, generous rail space, and protects delicate optics from barrel heat. The ingeniously simple and rugged design provides a rock solid ak scope mount for accuracy and a forward-hinged, quick release cover with rear cam lock design to preserve the AK’s field stripping qualities. The quick release hinge also allows the use of longer scopes without the need for quick detach mounts. Available in various configurations for standard pattern AK, Yugo, C39 and PSL rifles.

NOTE: Some rifles need an additional part (PN 55315 - Guide Wire & Retainer Cap / 6”) that works in conjunction with the TWS supplied Cover Release Button. Most AK rifles have a recoil spring assembly that consists of two long “U” shaped wires that loop together. The two looped wires assemble inside the recoil spring.
If your AK rifle has a telescopic tubular type recoil guide, please order the additional part, Guide Wire & Spring Retainer (PN 55315). This extra part, along with the Cover Release Button will replace your telescopic tubular type recoil spring assembly.

Installed it, got it sighted in, shot a few mags, removed the entire dust cover assembly and reattached. Tested and still sighted in. Solid construction. High probability I’ll be installing more of these on my other AK variants.

I followed the instructions (what little there were included) and went on line to watch the videos. The instructions got me through, but were not exact. I was able to finally figure it out and was not sure the rail would stay until I got it completely assembled. After I was done it was a perfect fit. Scope now mounts easily and take it to a range to site it in.

Awesome product. Fits amazing and looks better. Product is a 5 syar however MSP gets the 1 star. Would just order from a different company than MSP. Have ordered 2 times from them in a month and both times products show in stock but when I order I get an email 8 days later saying it's out of stock or backordered. They haven't had anything I ordered in stock and claim its due to the hit on the industry over the past year however I have ordered other products and arms from different sites and had my product in hand in less than a week. Although you probably won't see my review cause they have to approve your reviews.
