These surefire ep7 ear protectors are the best I have used. I am a USMC veteran and have been exposed to loud noises. When I go to the range, I have never been able to use excellent hearing protection. Tried them all, Macs, eargasm, etc. Useless... The Surefire is so comfortable and precise. They provide one of the highest decibel ratings and are not too expensive. It comes with the case, cord, and extra foam protectors.

It would help if you let the foam expand in the ear canal for a proper seal. For an indoor range, I use them under my electronic ear muffs as double protection. I keep them in my pocket for use when visiting woodworking friends, and they work very well when mowing the lawn while keeping the head cooler than earmuffs. The included line allows them to hang around the neck when you might need to take them out for normal conversation when interrupted.

I read the excellent reviews and thought I would try these surefire ep7 sonic defenders ultra. If nothing else, under my ear muffs. Wow, they block noise. I don't even usually put on my ear muffs anymore unless there is a lot of big-bore shooting going on around me. These thins flat work! I do have to compress the foam and work them into my ears, but I imagine that is why they work so well. I think that next time I may try the older type, with the "flanged" part that go into the ear canal. Some of the reviews said they didn't work as well as these, but they look more comfortable to insert. And, these work so well that they may be fine.

I tried these surefire sonic defenders ep 7 yesterday, at an indoor range where other shooters were using large-caliber firearms, nd they performed splendidly. I wore them for two hours, and they never felt uncomfortable; in fact, I forgot that I was wearing them. I had seriously tried to another product by this company and was not satisfied with it. I think part of it was the sizing (I purchased a medium, and clearly needed a large), but I believe the foam cups on these make a big difference, both in terms of comfort and effectiveness. I do think it's essential to go to the company's website and watch the video with directions for how to insert these. To distill it, it's necessary to collapse the foam cups a bit by rolling your fingers around them and then rotate them slowly into the ear. If you merely try to push them in, they will not fit well.

These earplugs are great; I can wear them for an 8-hour shift with no problem. I am around rivet guns all day, and they subdue the noises rather well. I would recommend these earplugs to anyone who has to deal with loud noises if they want to save their hearing.

A superbly made, multi-hour sound isolation earplugs. I use my surefire ep7 sonic defenders regularly for Magnum caliber - 300WSM, 300WBY & 375H&H - rifle shooting practice. Given the high price, it should come with several pairs of replaceable soft rubber inserts so that the frame can be used again after one pair of inserts become dysfunctional.

I wear the surefire ep7 under amplified muffs when shooting rifles with a high comb like an AR-15. Even the undercut ear muffs will sometimes get pushed off the bottom of your ear, letting in the BOOM. These work great. I wish the replacement tips were carried too.
