Customer Ratings & Reviews

Should really be called "Burnt Bronze" instead of Flat Dark Earth...
This Streamlight light is fantastic, as are all their products. However, it is important to note that it has a more Burnt Bronze color than the advertised "Flat Dark Earth" color. It will not match the typical Flat Dark Earth colors very well. If you want a lighter Flat Dark Earth color that matches other FDE gear, such as Magpul FDE furniture or typical FDE handgun frames, I recommend purchasing product number 69266 instead. I have deducted one star due to the misleading item description, as customers should be able to clearly understand what they are buying.
Cheaper and better.
I have been using Streamlight products for a decade and have experimented with more expensive brands. However, after spending twice as much on a pistol light recently and not seeing significant improvement in performance, I will remain loyal to Streamlight. For those in law enforcement, a nearly $300 light is simply not a feasible option. I would like to express my gratitude to Streamlight for maintaining their products at a high standard while still being affordable for the working man or woman in the military or law enforcement fields.
Bright, long battery
I am in love with this light for my rifles and handgun. The operation is incredibly simple, and the construction of the light is top-notch. It is far superior to a light that rhymes with "mforce". The light attaches securely, quickly, and with confidence. The battery life is impressive, and the operation is convenient for both right- and left-handed users. I am not sure what else to say, except that this light has been designed for tough users by tough users. I highly recommend grabbing one or even three of them.
Great light, like the color
I recently acquired this particular color, although I already have a few in black. At the price point, these lights are unbeatable. So far, I have been lucky and have not encountered any issues with any of them. I chose this specific color to alternate between my G19x and Sig M17. The color is darker than either of the firearms, but it looks fantastic and I have received compliments on it. After all, the appearance is important with firearms, right? I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this product again.
Best bang for the buck
The Streamlight tactical light is an exceptional product with exceptional customer service. I found it unreasonable to invest in a Surefire and was not willing to compromise on quality by opting for cheaper lights. The only drawback I have encountered is the tailcap, which I had to replace after 5 years of use. Streamlight was kind enough to replace it for free. I highly recommend this light for duty or home defense purposes. It may be too bright for smaller rooms with white walls, but it provides excellent illumination for larger rooms or outdoor use.
This is -the- go to weapon mounted light for a pistol
I possess a collection of tactical lights including the Surefire X300u, Surefire Scout, Inforce WML, standard TLR-1, and XC1. In my opinion, the TLR1-HL stands out as the best choice among them all. It is reliable, bright, has a decent battery life, intuitive switch design, durable, and easy to install/remove. The battery change process is also straightforward. When compared to the X300u, the TLR1-HL offers a better balance of output and cost. It beats the Inforce in terms of consistency, reliability, and brightness. The XC1 is also outperformed in terms of reliability and brightness. The strobe mode is designed in a way that makes accidental activation unlikely. As a right-handed shooter with a thumbs forward grip, I can activate the momentary mode by pressing down with my off-side thumb. I can also switch between momentary on and off quickly without accidentally activating the strobe mode. To activate the strobe, one must rapidly press the on-off-down sequence and hold on the second down/on. The switch can also be locked on by pushing it up until it clicks.
Remains the best WL on the market
The Streamlight TLR-1HL light is the author's fifth purchase of this model, not because it's the only option available, but because they can't find a compelling reason to choose another brand. Although there are a few brands that offer more lumens, the Streamlight light outperforms them when considering all of the important features such as price, durability, light output, and customer service. The author believes that Streamlight offers the best overall value in the market.
Great weapon light.
The Streamlight TLR-1HL light is one of the best weapon-mounted lights the author has ever owned. With experience using Surefire and other brands in both military service and civilian life, the author can attest to the light's durability and brightness. The beam is incredibly bright and does not wash out the author's vision in small, white-walled areas, making it ideal for tactical situations. The "BROWN" option is darker than the author's FDE furniture but still looks great on the weapon. The author has used the light on both a pistol and an AR platform using the Long Gun kit from Streamlight, and appreciates the light's manageable weight. It provides a great alternative to Surefire products at a more affordable price, offering more value than its cost. The only downside the author has noticed is that it is easy to accidentally activate the light when it's mounted on a sidearm in a holster, but this can be easily prevented with practice and research.
Used on FN 509 Tactical
The FN 509 Tactical can be fitted with the Streamlight TLR-1HL light, but requires changing the rail insert to the 1913 model, which is a quick and easy process that takes about a minute. The light comes with extra hardware in case any parts are lost during the change. The side nut is spring-loaded, making it easy to attach and detach from the pistol. The author, who wears medium-sized gloves, finds the controls easily accessible with their fingers. The fit and finish of the light appear to be of good quality. It's important to note that there are two options for the FDE color, FDE and FDE "BROWN." The "BROWN" option is a darker brown, and the author believes it provides a better match to the slide finish on the 509. However, this is a matter of personal preference. The beam of the light is bright, and the strobe is effective in deterring an attacker when aimed directly at their face. This light is a mid-market product with good construction and value for its price, and the author would purchase it again.
Colors on a Stock G19x
The TLR-1HL is a well-regarded weapon light that has a strong following in the CCW and LE communities. Despite not being flush with the end of the muzzle, the light is favored for its activation switch, which is considered the best among all the weapon lights the author has tried. The author's main concern was finding a picture of the FDE Brown color on a stock G19x, as the metallic finish makes it challenging to accurately capture the color in photographs. The color changes based on lighting, appearing more matte brown in soft light and more metallic bronze when hit by light at an angle. The attached pictures showcase the three colors (TLR-1, slide, frame) under different lighting conditions. The author ultimately chose the FDE Brown over regular FDE because they thought the lighter color might be too distracting, and preferred the slightly darker TLR-1 to match the rest of the G19x.
TLR-1 FDE
This light is the best tactical light for you personal home defense piece of choice!! Get one!!! Buy it and like it!! I'm definitely buying another one!!
Streamlight 69267 TLR-1 HL Flat Dark Earth Brown
I ordered a Brown one for my SLR10660R Pistol. Extremely bright and the finish is really nice attaches to my quad rail very tightly. The description says it doesn't have a strobe feature but mine does.
