Best barrel nut wrench I have used. The pins are long and engage securely. The wrench surrounds the barrel and five stout pins in contactwith the nut completely elimated the deflection that comes from using an open face wrench. My only regret is I didnt know about this awesome wrench 10 years ago.

This is the best barrel nut wrench for the job on the market. I have used several other brands, and none of them compares to this one, I had to file off the coating of the pins for an exact fit. As for the low ratings - get a life. This is not a one size fits all tool. If you have a fancy big name brand handguard with a proprietary barrel nut, you will probably need to buy that brand's tool. If you have a mil-spec handguard with a mil-spec barrel nut, this is the tool for you...

Excellent barrel nut wrench for a free float railed build. I keep wondering if the PRI boys blasted the 3/8 & 1/2 inch holes through with an acetylene torch. Good thing, it works!

After breaking one of the pins off of the DPMS multi-tool while installing a Larue handguard, I purchased this tool, and it is excellent. Extra heavy-duty, fits the Larue barrel nut perfectly and allows for the use of a 3/8 or 1/2 drive ratchet, breaker bar, torque wrench, etc. I have been an aircraft mechanic for over 15 years, and this thing is built like the tools that I make my living with...awesome product.

Fits in perfectly to my Barrel nut with 5 deep pins. I like that it's compact and purpose built product. It requires a torque wrench, which should be in your toolbox if you're assembling your own AR's. ($10 at harbor freight if you don't have one) It's always going to work, and it feels solid. At the end of the day its a wrench, and it reliably twists barrel nuts without marring or rounding like it's supposed to.

I am happy with this AR-15 Barrel Nut Wrench . While it is tempting to buy a combo tool for AR/M work, the reality is that a dedicated barrel wrenches are generally more comfortable to use correctly, has a superior design and build and do a better job. This particular wrench is built like a tank. The pictures do not do justice to how thick and sturdy the main plate is, and the five posts and flat face give added stability and assurance that it won't slip out like the combo tools efficiently do. There are holes for both 3/8 and 1/2 drive torque wrenches, which is a nice touch. Also notable is the lack of powder coating or paint. This is a plus, as it ensures that the pegs fit correctly in the nut. Some of the lesser wrenches are coated so thick that you can hardly fit them into the holes on a free-float nut. There is only one potential drawback, but it is pretty evident in the picture. This wrench cannot be used with the gas block/front sight in place. For me, this is not a problem as I'm generally using it to swap barrels that either already have a low-pro removable gas block on them, bull barrels, etc.. The only other suggestion that I have is that it is beneficial to saw, scribe or paint lines on the sides of the tool that correspond to the pegs. This will simplify your life when you're tightening the nut and trying to line up the gas tube hole. All in all, five stars. Nice product.

It’s nice, much easier to use than the awkward armors wrench. Now I can torque new barrels quickly and at a fair price.

For a cheap barrel wrench it exceeded my expectations. Found the sweet spot for lining up rail somewhere near 40 ft/lbs and the force was dispersed on 5 teeth rather than 3, which is a huge advantage. Teeth lined up perfectly with no slop. It's 3/8" thick steel plate! I would easily try for 70+ ft/lbs, but I didn't trust my cheap nut to go all the way there.
