Customer Ratings & Reviews
feels great, very similar to the PRS Gen 3
I began my six millimeter arc build about 18 months ago and had initially planned to use the Magpul PRS Gen 3 stock. But then Magpul announced the PRS Lite, which is lighter by a pound and cheaper by a hundred dollars. I was super excited and kept checking for its release, which got delayed multiple times. Finally, it's here! Installing it on my six millimeter arc build was mostly smooth, though I did have to make some modifications. I noticed a bit of play in the cheek riser and length of pull adjustment, which might be a concern for some. The PRS Lite doesn't come with M-LOK attachments like the PRS Gen 3, so if you're into monopods, this might not be for you. But overall, it feels great, very similar to the PRS Gen 3.
Magpul PRS LITE stock review
This stock is lighter than its predecessor, the PRS Gen 3, and comes with features like an adjustable length of pull, comb height, and QD sling loops at both the front and rear. I'm excited to see how it fits on my rifle. Oh, and big news – I'm taking my rifle to the range tomorrow for its first shots! I'll be trying to zero in my LPVO, so it's going to be a big day. The old stock on my rifle was from my Capstone project at the Sonoran Desert Institute. I'm swapping it out for this Magpul PRS Lite to give my rifle a sleeker look. The installation process is pretty straightforward, and I'm loving how it looks on my rifle.
Great AR stock
I have been using the prs lite stock on my AR10 because it provides the necessary features without being overly complex or tactical. It is a reliable and sturdy option that allows for length-of-pull adjustments, which is essential to me. Cheek risers are a nice addition, but they are not always necessary on an AR gas gun. The length-of-pull adjustment on this stock is easy to use and has remained secure even after shooting numerous high-pressure loads through my 308-caliber rifle. The fit of the stock may vary based on the tolerances of the buffer tube, but I was able to get a snug fit by using Teflon tape and wrapping the tube in a few places. Overall, I believe this is a good choice for someone who wants a semi-adjustable "fixed" stock and would consider purchasing it again in the future.
magpul prs lite review
I am extremely pleased with the performance of the Magpul prs lite stock. It is well-constructed and fits snugly onto my rifle without wobbling or rattling. The length-of-pull and cheek rise is perfectly adjusted for my comfort, and the stock has a sleek and professional appearance. Compared to my previous GEN 3 model, this PRS stock is significantly lighter and easier to handle. I have used it on my 5.56 3 Gun rifle and my Aero M5 308 bench rifle and have been consistently impressed with its performance. If you have a mil-spec carbine tube, this stock is an excellent choice that will not disappoint you. I am so satisfied with it that I have purchased two of these stocks for my own use.
Nice ar 5 stock.
Installation was simple and straightforward. Literally takes less than five minutes. I read some of the other reviews and get a strong impression some folks are very green when it comes to assembling things. The only thing I don’t care for is a small amount of back-and-forth play in mine. Negligible to most, maybe, but I’m a perfectionist.
Outstanding ar15 stock for a good price
The PRS Lite is exactly what you’d imagine, a lighter version of the PRS Gen 3 but with a much more appealing price tag! Like most from the Magpul line, installation on this product was hassle free and built like an ox. The PRS Lite doesn’t have the ‘easy’ adjustments, unlike the PRS Gen 3 with the knobs, but with a hex driver, you can configure it to YOU and it will stay in place! Overall another fantastic AR15 stock from Magpul.
Amazing rifle stock!
Fantastic build quality(as magpul products tend to be) and simple to install. Great adjustability and feels excellent to use.
An Absolutely Excellent Carbine stock
The Magpul PRS Lite stock is an excellent product to install on a carbine-type rifle for the price (i.m.o.). It is straightforward to install; remove the stock currently on the carbine (if not previously released), loosen one hex head screw (with the provided hex wrench), slide the PRS Lite stock onto the buffer tube, and tighten the previously loosened hex head screw. You're done. The time required to install the PRS Lite once any existing stock has been removed (if any) is under two minutes. The LOP (length-of-pull) and the cheek rest adjustments work the same way; loosen one hex head screw for each (using the same hex wrench previously used), set the LOP and cheek rest height to your preference, then tighten the hex head screw(s) for each. Once installed, there is no stock movement (wiggle (?)) to affect your shot. As to the price I paid ($120.00 U.S., approx.) in comparison to similar stocks from other manufacturers, I think it is at an excellent price point. I bought one when it was first available and would absolutely repurchase this product without any hesitation.
Worth it!
Installed it on a new 6.5 Grendal build. It works as good as it looks. Very happy with it and would recommend it to everyone looking for an excellent precision stock for an affordable price.
Great AR stock
This is a very solid AR stock if you do not want to shoot NTCH. check the LOP you want before ordering. Also, be advised that it uses a carbine buffer tube, not rifle.
Great fiting and functional AR-15 Stock
I have this installed on a self-built AR-15 SPR (18" barrel). With the stock entirely collapsed, the length of pull is 13.75", which for my build is just right. I see people wanting a shorter LOP for a more lightweight, compact build, but mine is meant to be primarily a target/bench gun. I'm an average height (5' 9"), and I'm thrilled with the fit. The fit and finish are great, and I like the different look from having just a collapsible carbine stock. Note that you'll need a plain, flat receiver end plate for this to go up against. For the comb height, I adjusted it up about 1/8 inch, and I got the best cheek weld I've had on an AR-15. The best feature, and honestly the main reason I bought this, is that it doesn't snag beard hairs. All collapsible stocks I've owned occasionally snag and pull out beard hairs, which hurts like crazy. There's nowhere to snag on with this, and I consider that a big win.
Nice AR stock.
