This AR15 stock has a firm yet smooth adjustments on a milspec tube. I bought it for use on a heavy caliber firearm and tested it on a friend's .458 Socom upper with no problems. I temporarily put it on a Valkyrie build and it performed excellently - good shoulder placement, confident grip, solid stability and consistent cheekpiece angle for comfort. Although I'm considering getting a stock with more adjustment points for bench shooting, I'm satisfied with this stock for now and would recommend it for various builds.

I use a black Magpul SL stock on my 5.56 SPR, and I'm happy with it. Although it weighs 3oz more than the Mission First Tactical Battlelink Minimalist Stock, it's not a concern since I don't plan on carrying the SPR. Also, the gray Magpul SL stock is very close to black in color."

Hands down, this has to be one of the best AR15 stocks out there. I said "one of" as I'm sure there are other really great choices as well as personal preference. What I've liked the most is the snug fit. No appreciable rattle, wiggle, or movement in any directions. I initially bought one for a DPMS Oracle, which has the commercial tube. I have since bought one for a CMMG with a mil-spec tube. Install is fast, adjustments are quick and secure. Not much weight difference and it's kind of minimal in shape but not as much as the SL-K. The slope sides on the cheek weld area are comfortable. There is a 1.25" slot for using a sling directly attached. Otherwise, the installed QD slots are on both sides so you can attach on either side. The rubber pad maybe adds a bit of length over the usual military-style 6 positon AR stocks. It's not a real grippy rubber that snags up on clothing, but it helps keep the Magpul stock to the shoulder and not slip around. I really enjoy these stocks!

One of the best adjustable stocks period. Slim & light weight, rock solid with absolutely no rattle, qd sling attachments, adjustment lever on both sides... definitely good to go!

Wanted an adjustable AR-15 stock with QD integrated - The Magpul SL is a great stock, built well with the QD attachment I wanted. Tight fit on the buffer tube I purchased and no slop. Unsure how the Magpul sl stock could be a better product unless the cost were reduced.

Bought this Magpul moe-sl stock to go with a lightweight 300BO build. After running a pricey LMT SOPMOD and B5 stocks, I was really impressed with how tight the stock fit the buffer tube. There is no slop what so ever. There are no secret stash spots on this stock, and I like that. Just a simple QD socket for a sling. It offers a slim cheek weld, and for the price, you can't go wrong. Stock offers good balance on a 16" rifle.

I took a chance on the Magpul moe sl stock based on other reviews on the web and was very pleased with the fit and finish of the stock. There is absolutely no wobble on a Luth AR buffer tube. In fact, its a little tight, but I prefer it that way since I don't constantly have to move the stock in and out. The cheek weld worked out great for me as I was a little worried it couldn't have enough surface. The butt end is grippy and the perfect size for quick mounting and dismounting of the firearm. The FDE is close to matching the AERO FDE, which was a plus.

Best AR stock for the money out there bar none. The Magpul moe sl stock has a longer length of pull and is rock solid with no rattle. I've heard some complaints that it is hard to adjust due to the snug fit on the buffer tube. It's really not that bad and will loosen up a little over time.

I bought one of these in Stealth Gray to upgrade my Wife's rifle, and it is much nicer than the standard MOE stock I took off. The MOE stock that she had on her rifle was a very sloppy fit and rattled, where this SL stock is a nice tight fit. I was a little apprehensive about buying one of these because of the lack of a friction lock, but once I had the AR stock mounted, I knew that it wasn't necessary. This Magpul moe-sl stock also has an improved cheek weld and the ability to use QD slings if you so desire. A solid five stars from me!

I have used most of the Magpul line of stocks, and this is as good as any... compared to the MOE is a step up, and compared to the CTR is a step sideways. It does not have a friction clamp, but there is little need for one because it fits very tight... no rattle. Instead of the tacky rubber plate, it uses a textured palate with an angled toe. I have used other stocks with an angled toe and found this to be a big bonus when you rapid shoulder. The position of the sling slot is a little different but good, if not better. Check weld is the same. I hope that helps.

I was not 100% happy with the stock on my new ar-15. So I did some hands-on research and discovered that the Magpul MOE SL Stock fit my needs. It a slim stock that's not too heavy yet gives you a good cheek weld and locks up solid. Installation was extremely easy, and the AR stock has been working perfectly on my rifle. I would certainly purchase this stock again if I ever need another AR stock.
