Magpul ACS-L Stock Review
It's pretty much like the regular ACS stock, but without the battery storage tubes on top. Let's unbox this together: inside, you'll find the ACS-L stock, installation instructions, a card differentiating mil-spec and commercial tubes (mine's mil-spec), and a quick detach sling swivel. Even though the box said the sling mount was optional, I was pleasantly surprised to find one inside. What I was really hoping for with this upgrade was a snug fit to the buffer tube to eliminate any wiggle and a better cheek weld for using scopes or red dot optics. Magpul's quality is evident in this stock. While it doesn't have the side battery compartments, it retains the rear storage compartment. I'm not one to add too much to my rifle, but maybe a small cleaning kit or oil could fit there. Now, let's talk weight. I compared the ACS-L to the M4 stock. The M4 weighs 6.3 ounces, while the ACS-L is 12.4 ounces. So, if you're aiming for lightweight, the ACS-L might not be your pick. But for me, the added length of pull and the overall look of the stock on my rifle, especially in Flat Dark Earth, was worth it. Installing the ACS-L was a bit different than the M4. You have to pull the lever and pins simultaneously to slide it onto the tube. It took me a bit to get used to, but it's manageable. Once installed, the stock's lock-up is impressive. There's zero wiggle when the friction lock is engaged. I'm really loving how secure it feels. In conclusion, I'm thrilled with the Magpul ACS-L stock on my CMMG MK4T. The fit, the look, and the lock-up are all top-notch. I haven't tested it at the range yet, but I'm eager to do so soon.
Magpul ACS-L: High Utility, Low Profile
In this article, I reviewed the Magpul ACS-L stock for the AR-15 rifle. The stock has a well-designed and adjustable body, multiple storage compartments, and QD sling attachment points, which make it a great choice for those who prioritize adjustability and storage options. Made of durable materials, the stock provides a comfortable cheek weld and stability, making it a pleasure to shoot with at the range. Additionally, the stock can store batteries and other small items, which is quite handy. Overall, I recommend the Magpul ACS-L stock for anyone looking for a high-quality AR-15 stock.
Awesome Stock
Very nice ar stock replacement for the factory carbine adjustable stock. It fits great, feels great, looks great, shoots excellent on LR-308. Very sturdy, not too bulky. The friction lock is a little stiff to get on and off the buffer tube but collapses and extends just fine. Perfect for benchrest since the adjustment lever is in the middle and not on the bottom. The only question is, what the heck do you put in the little storage compartment?
This AR Stock is an excellent upgrade
If you want to add a feature that gives your ar great looks in addition to value and functionality, look no further. I've gotten nothing but praise and envy when I showed this new look to my ar. Based on the positive comments, I'm sure this slight but simple modification will increase the resale value, which I'm in no hurry to part with.
magpul acs-l stock review
I have two of these—one on a 5.56 AR and the other on a 450 Bushmaster. If you compare this to the CTR or the MOE, it has a much nicer cheek weld and is slightly longer. It is much more comfortable, and I find it better for precision shooting. The storage is functional, and I like how it ditches the battery compartments, which I wouldn't use. The locking feature is solid, and I consider it essential. I also added the enhanced rubber butt pad, so all around, it is a great setup. Overall, it is my preferred AR stock, and I highly recommend it.
Magpul ACS-l carbine stock
My fingers got sore, holding down the installation pins to slide the Magpul stock over the buffer tube. Once on, it is a dream: no wobble, virtually infinitely adjustable. Love the cheek pad and room for a battery or other stuff in the side compartment.
Magpul acs-l is a Sturdy, practical and very functional AR-15 stock
A very sturdy and practical AR-15 Stock. The Magpul ACS l has positive lockups and little play. Very strong construction for a lightweight application. The storage compartment is an adequate size for essential without adding bulk & weight. Cheek is very comfortable considering its size and purpose.
The Magpul ACS-l stock has a nice little storage compartment
Gone through many stocks in the past years. Rifle / carbine, fixed tube, and on. My favorite prior to this, the basic LMT SOPMOD. This gives a similar cheek weld. Has an inherent longer length of pull (which I need) and with the optional extra-thick Magpul butt pad, actually ends up fitting me well. It has the Magpul lockdown lever, so it does not chatter in place. Works well enough. It has a nice little storage compartment that is rather handy, I think - although not terribly robust, a decent spot for a few lightweight items. Very pleased.
Magpul ACS L Carbine stock is perfect
I put the Magpul acs l on an AR build I did with a Spike's lower and a Daniel Defense DDM4V5 300 blackout upper. I was looking to keep weight down, and this stock fit the bill perfectly. It loses a little storage space to the ACS by not having the battery tubes, but no big deal just saves weight. Solid lockup, especially with the adjustment lock engaged, little to no play. A great, solid, lightweight stock that still has a small storage compartment.
Magpul ACS-L carbine stock
By far this is the best buttstock on the marketplace. Not only does this allow for some additional storage area, but it provides an incredibly durable and rigid platform along with a cheek rest for any longer duration scope days for smoother, more accurate follow-up shots. It is the only buttstock I will buy. I purchased the Magpul acs l is for my first AR build. I like it adjusts quite quickly, they could be clamped down on the buffer tube. It clamps down so well it seems to no longer be an adjustable stock. No wiggle or noise is coming from the stock. Have to give MSP credit, they make good products. MSP even had this on sale too.
Really like this stock.
This is my 2nd ACS-L stock, one black, one olive drab. Both are on 24" barrel bench guns for long distance target shooting. They are well made, and fit well without noticeable play, have sturdy a just mentioned which locks in place. Storage compartment is good for extra batteries or other small items. I can can a nice comfortable cheek weld without an extra riser! Thereally is a hole for adding a QD disconnect as well. Would buy again.
