Captain
Have to fit it for correct shape
Does not fit the M1A
It's definitely well made, but it was advertised to fit an M1A but it doesn't. The recess in the wooden stock is too small to fit into and the stock won't go back on. Now, I have to either modify the stock, the part or spend more money on one that fits.
This mounted on my DPMS Oracle
This is mounted on my DPMS Oracle with no modification, except for the use of a washer to mate to the outer surface. I am using it to mount a bipod for target use and have had no issues.
If you want to mount a bipod on your Ruger 10/22 don't hesitate to buy this
I purchased this to mount on my Ruger 10/22 Carbine. I have the composite stock and didn't want to install a Picatinny rail and then an adapter and then a bipod. This is the PERFECT fit!! It took me about 30 minutes to install.
Works fine with C308 Sporter
I almost went with a 4-star rating because i had to do a small bit of drilling to get the mount to drop into the wood forestock of my C308 but felt that would ave been unfair. Just a small amount of drilling and she dropped right in and fit snugly. Heck, getting the fore stock off was actually harder. Mounting my bipod was a breeze after it was in. I recommend this product.
Fits perfectly on a Cetme C308 with wood hand guards
I was reading about a guy that bought this in pushed it through the hole on the bottom of the wood handguards on a C308 to mount a bipod. I tried it, and it works great. It is a tight fit, and I had to push it hard to get it in, but I didn’t have to drill the hole out any larger.
Harris bipod adaptor Mini14 or Mini30 for use with multiple bipods ( not just Harris )
Ruger should just add this excellent adaptor to their synthetic stock Mini-14 and Mini-30s. This is the first accessory I have added (there are many other functional upgrades). The ability to very quickly add and remove a bi-pod is great. It takes a little attention to detail like drilling+epoxying and possible trimming, but well worth the effort. Depending on your shooting position and purpose... a bipod can potentially dramatically improved shot placement. This keeps pressure off your gas block. I never did like that other Mini14 contraption that clamps on over the gas block. That device gets a rating of 1 star from me even though I am a diehard Harris fan
Worked great Fine product
I installed this in the forend of my M1A polymer stock to allow me to attach a Harris bipod. I inletted the stock in the gas tube area under the gas cylinder to allow clearance so the gas cylinder would not contact this item. The plastic material was cut away easily with a Dremel tool, and the whole job was done in 30 minutes. Attaching the bipod is as simple as with any sling swivel stud equipped rifle now. And accuracy was not affected. I highly recommend it.
Fits ok.....
I installed this on a new M21 M1A springfingfield. Being that the stock is glass bedded from Springfield, I was reluctant to take it down. I had to trim quite a bit off of the new mount base, so it would fit down in the slot of the inside of the stock. I used a Dremmel Tool and a vise to hold it. So far so good..... My Harris bipod doesn't wiggle or move.
