I utilize this gauge to measure my 45 Long Colt, .357, and even .38 Special cartridges for Cowboy Action shooting. Although the picture may suggest that it's made of plastic, it's actually constructed from heavy-duty materials and is well worth the investment.

Since purchasing this 4-hole maximum cartridge gauge, my reloading time for 38 Special, 357 Magnum, and 44 Magnum ammo has been reduced by 60%. I now have complete confidence that what I load will fit in all types of revolvers every time I check. This gauge is a massive time-saver, and I wish I had discovered it years ago. As a standard practice, I now inspect every reload I make to ensure it fits in my firearms. The best aspect of this gauge is its lifetime aluminum construction, which is far superior to plastic construction used by many other brands. Presently, I'm only using the .45LC hole on this gauge block. However, since I also reload for my .357, I decided to purchase this block to save money instead of buying two separate case checkers. Although I initially bought this checker mainly for the 44-40 caliber, I have found it to be useful for other calibers as well. It offers excellent value when compared to other brands. However, I wish they would produce more caliber options in this gauge type, such as 45 Schofield, 32 S&W Long and .327 Federal Magnum, 380, and so on.

EGW chamber checkers are excellent tools for identifying any issues during the reloading process and avoiding frustration at the range. They function exceptionally well, and I have some that are several years old and still perform flawlessly even after processing tens of thousands of rounds.
