works perfectly
The gauge has seven chambers, but I wonder why the company doesn't produce gauges with even numbers that are compatible with the 50 round ammo trays, like a 100 or 10 chamber gauge. They already have a 100 round pistol gauge, so it would be great to see them expand their product line into the 50 or 100 round box for batch reloading. While these gauges are expensive, they are impeccably crafted, which justifies the cost.
Good value for a cartridge gauge.
The gauge is constructed with excellent craftsmanship and boasts a smooth, flawless finish. It appears to be accurate and aided me in identifying rounds that I had loaded with untrimmed cases that were mixed in my component stream. Furthermore, its price is competitive compared to other alternatives.
Essential tool in my reloading kit
The chamber checker has become an indispensable tool in my reloading kit, as it has eradicated any feed problems related to round size or shape in my .223s. I appreciate having multiple checks on the same block, enabling me to integrate it into my loading process by dropping each round here before placing it in storage. However, I do wish it had more chambers, as seven seems like an odd number.
Easy, cheap peace-of-mind
In addition to owning the EGW 9mm chamber checker, I believe that these gauges provide invaluable peace of mind for a rifle. They significantly simplify the process of setting up my resizing die. Whenever I'm ready to store my rounds in an ammo box, I also use them to check their size, ensuring that they will fit seamlessly in my rifle and saving me both time and money. In my opinion, they are definitely worth purchasing!
Works great, very useful to check case specs
I had to check the size of several hundred reloads, including some neck-sized and full-length sized ones. Using this tool made the task of sorting that ammunition effortless. Now, I plan to use it for inspecting the rounds that I'll be using in my matches. I even bought one for my 9mm rounds. Although it would be more convenient to check 20 or more rounds at a time, this gauge still gets the job done and provides me with confidence that the rounds will chamber smoothly.
Don't proceed without it
If the round head is protruding from the top, it's necessary to disassemble the round for resizing, as excessive crimping can distort the shell. Therefore, this gauge is an essential tool for reloading.
Works well
The product performs as advertised, and even if the case rim protrudes slightly, it still allows for smooth chambering and hand extraction. However, if you're purchasing this as a reloader and are repeatedly using the same brass for firing, this product won't detect split necks. You'll need to catch them during the pressing stage or manually inspect each batch.
One Arm shooter approved !!!!
My EGW 223 bullet checker just came in today. I have one arm, and I never reload. My friends do some reloading for me sometimes. I bought two EGW bullets checkers and 4 LE Wilson max gauges to play with my ammo. I have a full case of 223 55grain Fiocchi (50 round) ammo. In the first box , I found one round that would not sit flat. I am going to check my ammo before shooting for the rest of my life. I will be buying more ammo checkers in the future. Real fun to play with when the weather is terrible outside.
Great tool to stay on the bench
I had issues with my reloads, not chambering, so I stripped down my bolt and hand-fed sized cases and realized they were not headspacing. I bought this tool, and now that my dies are set properly, I have no issues. I check loaded rounds out of every batch with this tool to ensure nothing has gone awry. My friends at work that reload have borrowed this tool and realized almost none of them were sizing cases properly. A customer recently brought me an ar-15 upper with a stuck live round; the culprit was an improperly sized reload. Better safe than sorry, and this tool is the answer.
An absolute must if you reload!
I discovered the hard way that this tool is a must for the reloading bench. All it takes is one stuck casing in your chamber, and you'll be a believer in his product (or one like it).
