burris XTR II 3-15
I recently purchased the Burris XTR II 3-15x50 riflescope for an 18" Grendel build. I considered several options but ultimately chose this scope due to its impressive range of features for the price. Illumination, FFP, and a zerostop mechanism were all important factors for me, and this scope offered them at a more affordable price than many other options on the market. While I haven't yet taken it out to the range, my initial impressions of the scope are mostly positive. However, there are three primary issues I've noticed so far. Firstly, the turrets are stiffer than I expected, making them harder to turn than my Razor HD. While this may be an inconvenience for some users, it doesn't significantly impact the scope's functionality. Secondly, there are limited options for cat tail choices, although there are a few companies that make throw levers designed specifically for this XTR II scope. Finally, the scope is heavy, weighing in at 30.9oz. However, this is not uncommon for scopes in its class, and since it will be used primarily for shooting from a bench, the weight isn't a major concern. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase of the Burris XTR II 3-15x50 riflescope. While there may be some negative reviews online, I prefer to form my own opinion after trying it out for myself. I look forward to testing it at the range and gaining more insight into its performance.
Great Glass and Features
I bought this scope to complement my custom Aero Precision build, mounted with an Aadmount scope mount. The scope is incredibly sturdy and built like a tank, with turrets that have positive clicks without feeling too tight. The reticle is fantastic, although I feel that the lower illumination settings are not very useful. However, the other settings are more than enough when needed, so this isn't a significant issue. The glass is exceptional, with clarity from edge to edge even at higher magnifications, making it an excellent option for low light situations. Overall, I highly recommend this scope and believe that it stands up well against more expensive options on the market.
A lot of bang for the buck
Until recently, I never considered Burris as a manufacturer of quality long-range precision scopes. However, after discovering the Burris XTR riflescope and comparing it to a first-generation Vortex PST with FFP, I found that it exceeded my expectations. This scope checks all the boxes for me in terms of essential features, including FFP, mil/mil turrets, side parallax, and ten mil revolutions, as well as a zero stop function. The scope tracks well, and the glass is clear and bright, despite the scope's slightly heavy weight, which is common for 34mm tube scopes. One of my favorite aspects of the Burris XTR riflescope is the SCR mil reticle. It is precise enough near the center to make accurate holds but not overly complex, allowing for a clear sight picture. In terms of value, if this scope had a Nightforce logo on it, it would likely cost three times as much. While I'm not suggesting that it's necessarily better than a Nightforce, if I miss the same targets as someone using a Nightforce, it's probably because I'm not as skilled, rather than because the scope is incapable of delivering.
Burris Xtreme for precision shooting
To pair with my Savage 10 FCP LE .308 for precision shooting, I selected the Burris XTR 3-15 riflescope. After researching and comparing various scopes, I found that the clarity of the optic was consistently praised in reviews. I even compared it to other scopes at my local range and found it to outshine most in its price range. Additionally, it boasts a lifetime warranty, giving me added peace of mind. The scope's build quality is impressive, and the turrets feel heavy-duty, indicating durability.
Best Dollar for Dollar Scope
The scope comes equipped with a first focal plane and fine reticle, allowing for precise hold over and wind corrections. Additionally, the exposed turrets with zero stop and illumination make it a versatile option for various shooting scenarios. With 110 MOA of elevation and a 20 MOA mount, achieving 1000-yard accuracy with a 308 is straightforward. The glass is clear and colors are vivid, although there is some minor chromatic distortion at higher magnification, which can be corrected by adjusting your cheek weld. At only 1/3 the price of a Nightforce or 1/2 the price of a Vortex Razor Gen II, this scope is an excellent value. Despite the lower cost, I have found it to perform comparably to more expensive optics, allowing me to keep up with other shooters at 1000-yard shoots while spending less on my entire setup than some do on their optics alone.
Burris Scope
The SCR reticle and clear glass are my favorite features of this scope. Although it is a bit heavy, the benefits it offers compensate for the weight. The turrets are easy to turn and adjust. I am impressed with this scope, and I would certainly purchase it again. In fact, I already have!
Burris XTR
I was on the lookout for an affordable riflescope that would offer a range of features suitable for my intended use. After browsing various internet sites, I stumbled upon the Burris XTR riflescope range. Although I had originally wanted the 4x20x50 model, it was out of stock, and I settled for the 3x15x50 with SCR reticle and mil adjustments. My personal experience with the Burris XTR riflescope has been positive. The scope tube is solidly constructed with no complaints in terms of design. The fast focus eye piece is a nice feature that allows for a sharp image of the reticle. The SCR reticle is accurate, and the elevation turret is the perfect size with defined adjustment clicks that make dialing easy. The zero stop function works flawlessly. I tested the scope at the range with a semi .308 and was pleased to find that the elevation and windage adjustments in mil were spot on and confirmed out to 800 yards. The reticle also performed well with holdovers up to 800 yards. Parallax adjustment was easy to make. The optic clarity was impressive with a clear and sharp image from edge to edge. I have used higher-priced scopes that cost twice as much with poor clarity, making the Burris XTR an exceptional value for the price. The scope also comes with a sunshade and flip-up covers for the ocular and objective lenses. Overall, I consider the Burris XTR riflescope to be a win in terms of features and affordability. While I am not an optics expert, my experience with this scope has been positive, and I highly recommend it.
I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase it again.

I go on to provide a detailed analysis of the scope's performance based on my personal experience using it. I note that it performed well in low-light conditions and had excellent clarity and sharpness. I also praise the scope's user-friendly controls and easy-to-use reticle. However, I also note that the scope's weight may be a concern for some users, and that it may be more expensive than other comparable options on the market. In conclusion, based on my personal experience, I highly recommend the Burris XTR II to hunters and shooters who demand high-quality optics and reliable performance.
