    Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40mm Overview

The Burris Fullfield II riflescope is a popular choice among hunters and shooters, offering a range of features and a reasonable price point. In this review, we'll take a closer look at what makes the Fullfield II stand out and why it might be a good option for your next hunting or shooting trip.

One of the most notable features of the Fullfield II is its optical clarity. The scope's lenses are fully multi-coated, meaning they have multiple layers of anti-reflective coatings that help to reduce glare and improve image brightness and contrast. This translates into a clear and crisp image, even in low-light conditions.

Another key aspect of the Fullfield II is its durability. The scope is built with a one-piece tube made from aircraft-grade aluminum, which provides excellent shock resistance and ensures that the scope holds zero even after heavy recoil. Additionally, the scope is nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed, making it waterproof, fogproof, and dustproof.

The Fullfield II comes in a variety of configurations, including several magnification levels and reticle options. The Ballistic Plex reticle, for example, is designed to help shooters compensate for bullet drop and wind drift, making it a popular choice among hunters and long-range shooters.

Another benefit of the Fullfield II is its ease of use. The scope features finger-adjustable, low-profile turrets that are easy to grip and adjust, even while wearing gloves. The eyepiece is also easy to focus and features a fast-focus system that allows you to quickly adjust the reticle to your desired level of sharpness.

Overall, the Burris Fullfield II is a solid choice for anyone looking for a reliable and affordable riflescope. Its optical clarity, durability, and ease of use make it a popular choice among hunters and shooters alike. Whether you're targeting big game at long range or honing your skills at the range, the Fullfield II is definitely worth considering.

Burris Scopes Should Not Be Overlooked!

With 30 years of hunting and shooting experience under my belt, I can attest to the fact that Burris consistently delivers top-quality rifle scopes at reasonable prices. You could purchase two Burris scopes for the price of some other brands, and even then, it would be quite challenging to wear one out. I appreciate the 40mm objective lens as well. Many scope manufacturers seem to be in a constant competition to produce larger and larger objective lenses, but personally, 40mm is about as large as I'd like to install on a deer rifle that I'll be carrying around. I'm not taking 500-yard shots, so the 3-9x40mm is ideal for my needs.

At this price point, it's superior to all other scopes. While I typically prefer Leupold, this is a fantastic scope. Although they were previously manufactured in America, this one is made elsewhere. The ballistic plex reticle is quite nice and gets you quite close to the precise yardages. The eye relief on this scope is nothing short of phenomenal, and it warrants considerable praise. I installed this scope on a single shot .270 with a muzzle brake and a collapsible stock (9"-13"), so my young daughters could become more accustomed to shooting with the family. The reticle always remains in complete focus throughout the stock positioning's entire range of motion. Service was prompt and precise. While I haven't fired this setup yet, I'm already familiar with this scope. Burris and Optics Planet both earn two enthusiastic thumbs up!

    Great scope

I am the proud owner of four distinct Burris Fullfield II scopes. I have found them to exhibit exceptional optical quality and have never encountered issues with fogging or related difficulties, even during the most inclement weather conditions. The simplicity of their Ballistic Plex reticle is especially appealing to me. According to several "professional" online reviews, this scope ranks among the best in its price range. While some may claim to require shooting at distances of 500 yards or greater, as seen in magazines, most of us will never have to shoot at deer beyond 300 yards (my longest deer kill was at 356 yards with a 3-9 Burris Fullfield II mounted on a .270 Win.). For regular deer hunters like us, this scope provides everything we need or desire. Why pay more?

    Fantastic for the price

On a whim, I purchased the Burris Fullfield II to replace a redfield that couldn't maintain zero on a 223 rem. The sub-$200 price point was too enticing to overlook. I wound up installing this scope on my custom 338 Win mag after discovering that the Leupold vx5 I had acquired for it - at 3.5X the price - was a letdown. The Fullfield II makes zeroing in quick and precise with its user-friendly, large knobs. As a hunter who prefers to set and forget my scope's settings, I expect my scope to maintain zero, and the Fullfield II performs impeccably in this regard, even with heavier recoiling rifles. The eye relief and field of view are satisfactory. While the glass and coatings may not be on par with those of more expensive scopes, they are nearly comparable and of excellent quality, especially considering the price. Glare hasn't been an issue, and low-light visibility is commendable. During the previous season, I utilized this scope on moose, bear, and elk hunts. I took all of my shots at dusk on overcast days with drizzle. I did experience some difficulty detecting the thin crosshairs on the black bear at a distance of 20 yards. While the duplex reticle is a tad too slim for my preferences, it does offer adequate contrast in low light conditions.

My experience with the Ffield 2 has been trouble-free. I've utilized this scope on both a Bmag and .22 and found it to be highly clear, waterproof, and durable. The field of view is ideal, and I believe the eye relief would be satisfactory for my 6.5 Swede. The non-ballistic reticle is a personal favorite, with its thin, clear design that does not distract when targeting moving game. While some may prefer a ballistic reticle, I am quite content with this style. It includes roughly three holdover marks, and if that isn't enough for you out to 300 yards, you can practice holdover with uniform spacing variations. I typically employ mine at ranges below 200 meters, but I am confident it would perform admirably with a larger caliber up to 500 meters. It's an exceptional scope overall. The screw cap protection on elevation and windage clicks is secure and reliable during sighting in, and I've encountered no issues. I've taken it out in the monsoon weather of North Australia without experiencing any fogging or leakage. While I have yet to test it in the cold weather environments of the USA, I see no reason for it to fail. Given the lifetime warranty, I can confidently assert that this is a brilliantly designed scope.

I affixed this scope to a Tikka T3 Lite chambered in .308 Winchester with the intention of validating Sako's assertion that the rifle can shoot a sub-MOA 3-shot cluster at 100 yards right out of the box. To my astonishment, I was able to achieve a 1/2-inch group, surpassing my expectations. Moreover, I found the process of adjusting the scope and zeroing the dials to be quite straightforward, and the scope retained its zero impeccably. I used Federal Premium Gold Medal Sierra MatchKing 168-grain ammunition during the test.

Good value, good glass, turrets "ok"

I opted for this rifle scope because it was half the cost of my ideal 3-9x40 Leupold VX Freedom. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my purchase, particularly considering the price point. The glass provides a clear view, although I do have two minor criticisms. Firstly, the stadia lines can be challenging to discern. Secondly, the turret clicks are somewhat soft. Nevertheless, it zeroes accurately and has successfully withstood the recoil of my .50 cal muzzleloader. All things considered, I believe this scope offers good value for the money, and you'll likely be pleased with it too.

    One Good Scope !!

Without a doubt, this is one of the sturdiest rifle scopes available on the market! I accidentally fell on my scope while trying to escape from a bison bull through a steep ravine (fortunately, the scope caps were on!). The impact was so powerful that I lost consciousness for a moment! However, the scope remained intact and performed flawlessly during two subsequent bison hunts, resulting in one-shot kills on both occasions. Nevertheless, I must offer a word of caution: if you have a magnum rifle with a shortened stock to compensate for short eye relief, be mindful of the scope's placement, or you might experience an unfortunate scope kiss.

Best low to mid price scope period!

For several seasons, I have been using the Fullfield II on my Remington 700 6.5 Creedmoor, and it has consistently performed without any issues. Despite bouncing around while using a climbing tree stand, the scope has never lost zero or fogged up. The glass quality is superior to other scopes within its price range and rivals that of more expensive models. In my opinion, the Fullfield II is the top-performing scope on the market, with the exception of the Leupold VX-3, which costs twice as much. I am so impressed with this scope that I purchased a couple of extras for future rifles.
