I recently purchased the Aim Sports AK KeyMod Handguard for my Zastava M90NP and have been quite pleased with it so far. One of the benefits of this handguard is its lightweight design, which makes it easier to handle and maneuver my firearm. The modular KeyMod system also allows me to easily attach and remove accessories such as lights and lasers. In terms of appearance, the handguard looks nice and gives my firearm a more modern and tactical appearance. Additionally, the larger grip area allows for a more comfortable hold on the firearm. There are a few drawbacks to the handguard, however. First, the barrel clamp screws are quite short, so it's important to be careful when attaching them. I found it helpful to only screw them in slightly until all were in place, and then tightening them down. Another issue is that there is no receiver plate, so the handguard relies on the barrel mounts to hold it in place. Because of this, I decided to keep my original upper handguard on to provide additional support. It might be possible to address this issue by cutting a thin strip of metal and wedging it into the receiver, then bolting it to the bottom KeyMod slot to ensure proper alignment and reduce movement. Overall, despite these minor drawbacks, I am satisfied with my purchase of the Aim Sports AK KeyMod Handguard for my Zastava M90NP.

Given the limited options for a Yugo handguard, I will say that I like this unit. It's light, cheap, and easy to install. The fit wasn't perfect because the upper handguard contacted the original handguard bracket on the gas tube, leaving a slight gap between the upper and lower handguard (on one side) after installation. Not entirely sure this is the manufacturer's fault, and I suppose it could be fixed with a visit from Dr. Hammer kindly. This fitment issue probably falls under "light gunsmithing required." However, the screws for securing the upper handguard to the lower handguard should be longer. I am pretty aware of the fragility of Chinese screws and threaded aluminum receptacles, but I wasn't able to get one of the screws even close to finger tight before it stripped the first few turns of threading out of the hole. If these screws were longer, they would achieve better purchase in the lower handguard before getting under tension, and the load would be distributed better. That said, the other three-bit pretty well, though I didn't dare tighten them very much. I will try to find some longer screws. Bottom line, the handguard went on smartly, looks good, and feels as solid as an aluminum cheese grater can be expected to. If you're careful with your installation, this isn't a bad way to dress up an N-Pap. I haven't shot it yet, but I assume it will percolate the heat from the barrel right into the old digits, so that some rail panels might be a good idea.
