I have used this on two of my rifles so far. It has shown itself to be consistent in the readings. The "finger" does move a little freely when trying to use one-handed, but that isn't a big deal. I am happy with the purchase so far, and if I need another one anytime soon, I'll order one of these. It seems sturdy enough that I will not be needing another one for years to come through

Excellent Gauge: I have had the Wheeler Trigger Pull Scale for a few months now and am well pleased. I checked the Scale with a known weight, and it was correct. I set all my rifles at 3 1/4 lb. pull, and a it was perfect. It in combination with the Wheeler F.A.T. wrench, is just the perfect way to keep your rifle tuned.

Very useful tool! I bought this product as a gift for a friend. He no longer has to borrow mine (a different brand). When comparing these two gauges, there is no variation of more than fractions of oz. I paid much more for my gauge, but I see no more quality in my gauge than the one I purchased from you and would heartily recommend it to anyone. The price was more than fair!

Outstanding Value and a Great Price

This little gizmo does the job of more expensive (but NOT more accurate) digital jobs. Use a slow, steady pull, and STOP when the hammer falls. It's just that simple. The bright yellow slider marks the weight at which your trigger releases the hammer. As with all tools of this nature, do an average of 5 to help even out the human factor.

    Best value for the money

I've built several 1911s and installed aftermarket triggers in Springfield Xdm, Smith and Wesson M&P Pro, and Glocks. I don't need sub-ounce measurements, so this trigger pull gauge works for me. If done correctly, the readings are very consistent.

    Works fine for me

I had never felt the need to have a gauge until I bought a rifle with adjustable trigger. I always just dealt with the trigger as it was. I wanted to know how much each adjustment was affecting pull, so bought this. It works as described. Easy to use with consistent, repeatable readings. Probably not for you if you are looking to know down to the precise ounce, but it serves my purpose quite well.

    Wheeler Trigger Pull Gauge

This is a relatively inexpensive Trigger Pull gauge. It works as well as anything else on the market for 2x or 3x the price. Anything that measures weight pull, etc.. to be as accurate as possible needs to be certified on a set basis, or if it is dropped, damaged, etc. Outside of certain industry needs, backyard gunsmiths don't need to look further. Having an electronic scale may be slightly more convenient, but they also would need calibration regularly to remain as accurate as possible. I'll take a simple stone axe approach to check my trigger pulls. This Wheeler Trigger gauge works, is repeatable, and if it's not dead-on accurate, it's close enough for me, and what I'm using it for.

    Great performing trigger pull gauge

I purchased this product in the middle of several trigger projects. It is constructed well and I found it to give very reproducible results. I find it works best if I used the same gauge placement and isolate the weapon as much as possible. For rifles I stand them up on a firm surface, place the gauge on the lower 1/3 of the trigger a pull the gauge straight down. On occasion I will use electrical tape sticky side out, to help keep gauge placement stable. When I standardize my technique, my results are dead on. I placed a AR trigger spring kit and got a final trigger pull of 4 1/2 lbs which is exactly what the company claimed. On my Glocks the trigger safety can interfere with gauge placement and I will use my finger to guide the gauge during the first part of the pull. Additionally, the package is resealable and provides a place to store and protect the unit. If I were to suggest improvement, it would be to make the tip better able to grip the trigger. This was easily solved with electrical tape for me. All in all this was money well spent.

    Consistent Readings

Given its inexpensive pricing, I did have some anticipation that it might not be all that reliable with its readings. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I measured the trigger on a rifle I knew has a consistent release pressure, I just did not know exactly at what weight. The Wheeler Engineering gauge showed that it has a very consistent 3lb 8 oz. trigger with nearly every reading. Variation from that was less than a single marking of the scale. The gauge has a very lightweight plastic body but it is sufficient for its purpose. The trigger engagement "finger" of the device is padded with a rubber boot that will prevent it from slipping or marking the trigger face. My only negative thought on the gauge is the 8 lb. weight capacity. Many pistols and even some rifles have triggers with excessive pull force and this gauge can only indicate that as being more than 8 lbs but not reveal how much the actual pull weight is. Any gun of mine, however will soon have a pull weight within the range of this gauge. I am very satisfied with it.

    Trigger Scale

A long-time believer in lightweight triggers, and as well a long-time shooter relying upon other people's tools, I finally broke down and bought this Wheeler trigger gauge. Not the most fancy product in the world, but then, neither am I. Still, we both work just fine. Better still is having others now ask if they can use my gauge. Won't say I'm 'lovin' it', but it sure beats what I was using.
