I apply this to both scope bases and rings, as well as certain screws on vintage rifles and shotguns that have a tendency to become unstable. It's user-friendly, and the dual application methods add to its convenience."

Optics can sometimes falter, but often it's the scope mounts that become unstable. Before setting up a scope, always ensure the mounting holes in the receiver are cleaned thoroughly using a potent degreaser. Dry them using a cotton swab. Follow the same process for the base screws. Once cleaned, apply Surethread. A small drop on each screw should suffice. Tighten the screws and let them set for about 20 minutes before fixing the rings. This method is especially effective for older firearms that tend to have action screws that loosen post-shooting.
