Dual purpose Scope Rings
Exactly as advertised---Mounts perfectly without a rail and directly onto the receiver, and functions correctly in that the iron sights can be utilized correctly with the Scope as a readily accessible option Very Satisfied
Good fit.
Good price. Faster than expected delivery. Doing what they are supposed to do.
Ruger 10/22 perfect match
These mounts fit perfectly onto the 10/22 receiver without requiring the adapter that Ruger provides. If you want the ability to use both the scope and open sights, it is crucial to avoid using a high mount on the adapter, as the base blocks the open sights. These mounts hold the BSA 3-9 x 40 securely and have provided me with exactly what I wanted for this excellent firearm. I should note that this is a Sports South exclusive edition, which is made of stainless steel and has a full-length Mannlicher black/grey laminated stock that is truly stunning. It also shoots sub 1" groups at 100 yards.
Works great!!
This scope mount works fantastically! I did not experience any issues with the screw lengths that attach the mount to the gun. However, upon initial testing, the front mount was wiggling, which frustrated me greatly. I decided to measure the screw lengths, and they were all the same size. To get to the root of the issue, I created a homemade depth gauge to measure the depth of the mounting holes in the gun. I discovered that the holes were at varying depths, which seemed highly unlikely given the CNC or DNC machining used at Ruger. I suspected that there was debris in the base of the holes, which turned out to be correct. After inserting a small screwdriver and twisting it around, I removed a bunch of unidentified debris from the holes. After that, mounting the scope was a breeze. This is an exceptional and well-built scope mount that I highly recommend.
These rings let me mount my scope and see my ...
These rings allow me to mount my scope and still have the option of using my iron sights. When I initially mounted the rail that came with my 10/22 takedown, it blocked my rear sight (regardless of whether or not the scope was attached), making the iron sights unusable with the rail in place (if you can't see the rear sight, the front one is useless beyond 3 yards). By mounting these rings directly onto the receiver, I always have the choice of using either my scope or iron sights. I firmly believe that a 22 should have iron sights, so I give these rings a full 5-star rating. If you have a 10/22, these sights eliminate the need for a rail.
Great for using both scope and sights
I purchased these rings because I often switch between my open sights and my scope. With these rings, I can conveniently use both. They securely hold the scope in place, and despite bumping my rifle around in my truck and on the ATV, the scope has maintained its zero perfectly. The rings are so sturdy that I've even used the scope as a carrying handle. My open sights are relatively low above the barrel, yet these rings still provide a clear view of them. Installing the rings with a small screwdriver took only around 10 minutes. Additionally, if you have a large target scope, such as a 50mm or larger, these rings will elevate the scope high enough off the barrel to provide a clear view. I am thoroughly pleased with these rings.
Great scope mount rings!
I purchased these mounts/rings for my new Ruger 10/22 rifle that I received as a Christmas gift. It's important to note that these mounts are designed specifically for the 10/22 and fit perfectly once I realized that the plastic they were attached to was just to keep the bands from getting bent. The holes lined up perfectly with the ones on the rifle, and I applied some lock tight to the screws to prevent them from backing out (as I do with all my scope rings). They were an excellent fit for my BSA Sweet 22 Scope, and once tightened, they feel incredibly reliable and sturdy. I especially appreciate the see-through design, which allows me to quickly take shots with the iron sights. Overall, I highly recommend these mounts for anyone looking for a reliable and sturdy scope mount for their Ruger 10/22 rifle.
great fit for 10/22
I chose these mounts specifically to use both a scope and iron sights, and they fit perfectly, providing a clear view of the iron sights. However, I have a minor issue with the manufacturing quality that prevents me from giving it five stars. The threads were not machined correctly, causing the included bolts to not fit properly. I had to use significant force to insert them, and I was surprised they didn't break during the process.
A Must for Scoped 10/22s
These mounts are not only visually appealing but also highly functional. My wife prefers to use iron sights on her 10/22, whereas I prefer a scope for better accuracy. These mounts provided an excellent compromise as I was able to remove the rail that blocked the iron sights and easily switch between the two with just a minor head adjustment. However, the installation process was not the simplest. The screws that attached the bottom half to the 10/22 were difficult to screw in using my adjustable screwdriver since it was too wide for the hole. I managed to work around this issue by scrounging for other tools. It's also important to note that the rings are designed for a full-size 1" tube, so if you are using a cheap Tasco scope with dovetail mounts, the ring may be too large. This issue can be easily fixed with some black duct tape, but do keep this detail in mind. Despite these minor issues, these mounts are definitely worth the investment and the time to re-zero the scope. If I purchase another 10/22, I will not hesitate to buy these mounts again.
For ruger 10/22 carbine
If you're searching for scope rings that allow you to use both your scope and iron sights on your Ruger rifle, then these are the rings for you. This product works precisely as advertised, so don't be swayed by the few negative reviews you may come across. Those complaints were likely written by people who do not know how to properly mount a scope. They may have mentioned screws becoming loose, but that can be easily prevented by using a small amount of blue Loctite (not red) when tightening the screws. This will ensure that you will not have any issues whatsoever. Occasionally, Weaver may mistakenly package two of the same rings, but this is a rare occurrence. The rest of the complaints are likely due to human error. I, along with several other individuals, use these rings and have not experienced any problems. I am currently using a Nikon 3x9x40 scope, and the iron sights are still visible. Overall, this is an excellent product that I highly recommend.
Sturdy mounts
These mounts are highly durable and secure, but they may not be the most precise. It took almost all of my elevation adjustment clicks to zero my scope at 50 yards, so I had to shim the mount to achieve better alignment. I dislike having to use shims since they add stress to the scope tubes, but given the reasonable cost of these mounts at only 12 dollars, I'll still give them a rating of 4 stars. For those who are interested, I paired these mounts with a large 3-9x40 scope, and the iron sights are still operational. However, a larger 50mm scope would probably block the view of the iron sights. Personally, I find a 40mm scope sufficient for my 50-year-old eyes, and I cannot imagine why someone would want to mount a 50mm scope on a 22.
Know what you're buying
These scope mounts perform as expected by securely holding the scope in place, and their reversible design adds versatility over a one-piece mount. The mount's shape creates a viewing window that helps with target acquisition by allowing you to line up your 10/22 with the target before looking through the scope. However, the downside is that these mounts block the shooter's view of the rear sight, and neither the factory sights nor the fiber-optic replacements can be used through the viewing window. This issue is not the fault of the scope mounts as any optic added to the upper receiver of the 10/22 will block the sight picture due to the design of the barrel-mounted sights that do not protrude far enough to be seen with any top-mounted accessory. While there is nothing wrong with these mounts, the feature of having a viewing window is defeated by the 10/22 sight design. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a solution to this problem; one must choose between using a scope or iron sights, and a two-in-one solution is not feasible.
