Customer Ratings & Reviews
I would recommend for budget restricted individuals
I purchased this tool for the sole purpose of changing and or adjusting sights on handguns! It seems to work well within its limitations. It does not incorporate a design for pushing the front sight. But, with a bit of trial and error and shimming, I managed to make it work. If budget is not so much of a concern, you would be more appreciative of a Wheeler or Williams sight pusher! Both are more thoughtfully engineered for a broader range of use. But I still like it!
Reasonable price. Works fine.
Gave it a five mainly for the price. Works fine on Glocks, but don't forget to oil threads well before each use. Some instructions would be suitable for those who have never used a sight pusher. Good value, but could easily strip threads if not careful.
Great tool for the price
I have two pistols that needed the sights adjusted. This tool did a great job of it. For the average gun owner, I think this fits the need. Using this is ten times better than using a punch and hammer. I found the quality is good as well as the instructions. I think it's well worth the price.
Unbeatable for the price
For what this tool costs, I am amazed at how many adjustments are available and how sturdy it is. Drifting or removing/installing a rear sight couldn't be easier. It has precise markings to show how much you have moved a sight one way or the other. If only it also had narrow pusher inserts for front dovetail sights, it would be perfect.
The quality is good, but
I tried using this with an S&W Body Guard, which is relatively small. The height level will not reach the appropriate level, not even with the shim. The video on this product is okay, but the lighting is terrible, and there was nothing on using the shim. A well lit close-up view would have been much better, as well as more explanation about height adjustment. I think it's not going to work on the S&W Body Guard.
Extremely Sturdy
Surprised when it arrived. Solid Aluminum frame and pretty heavy. Base plate needed to be tightened down to engage the elevation screw, but that was only a semi-issue. Re-centered Trijicon sights on Glock 17 with no issue. Gives me the flexibility to tweak when need be. Well worth the price tag.
Works perfectly.
I decided to build off of a Polymer80 frame and pick my parts from various sources. When I tried installing the rear sights, it was more difficult than I'd seen. I tried using a gunsmithing hammer, and only marred the side of my rear sight. Now it was stuck in the slide, and I couldn't even get it out. Yup, I'm a dummy. So, I got the right tool for the job, the NCStar sight pusher. In 5 minutes, I had the sights in place and lined up exactly. The easiest thing in the world now. Very happy with this purchase.
great procuct for the price
I have used this on Glock, M&P, and H&K VP-9 rear sights took off and put on with the glock and the M&p adjusted only with the V-p9 just make sure and keep oil on all threads as it does take some torque to move some sights and make sure you are pushing on the right surface. had set to high and bent some cheap hi -viz aluminum sights taking off M&P but that was my faught.
Handy Dandy
So far, I've used this to remove and install the rear sight in my Glock 42 and to remove the front sight from my HK USP40 (I would not use to install front sight, because of angle). The unit is well made and sturdily constructed. Excellent packaging, as everything has its place in the foam inside the nylon zippered case. It's pretty easy to use and set up. Holds the slide firmly. I'm sure that one could nitpick things because every slide is s little different, but overall this is a winner. And, considering the cost of most rear sight pushers, this unit is a steal.
Great for the price
I have a Kimber 1911 that has adjustable rear target sights on it. I never really did care very much for the target sight, but I love the gun (10mm auto). So, after seeing this and its very reasonable price compared to the prices on other sight tools (outrageous), I thought I would give this one a try. I bought a Heinie Kimber slant pro sight #356, and using this tool; it was a very simple change out. Now I have a gun that I love with sights I really like. If you are thinking about getting this tool - buy it. It's simple to use and seems to be very well made. From the way it is set up, I think It will work on many different handguns (if not all of them).
I would by this again
Before receiving the tool, I watched a video on NcStar's website showing how to use it. (They used a Glock in the demo.) Upon the tool's arrival, I installed an Ameriglo rear sight on a Glock in just a few minutes. It works for my purposes at a price point much cheaper than buying a dedicated sight tool just for Glocks. I saw the negative reviews, and maybe it won't work on everything. But, it seems to work on one of the most common platforms out there.
It works!
I occasionally have a gunsmith adjust and install pistol sights while I watch. I decided to try this inexpensive alternative while it was on sale, and there was no shipping charge. I oiled the bolt threads and guide rod surfaces per the instructions and took my time to carefully set it up on a Glock slide. This sight tool worked perfectly, and it did not damage the rear sight or the slide.
