Best setting bipod
There is no better setting bipod, period. Do not get the shorter models. Even at 5'9", this is the model to get. If you never hunt on uneven ground or near hills, you might be able to get by with a shorter model. However, if you do hunt in these types of environments, you will be glad you chose the longer model. If the bipod is too tall for a particular situation, you can position the feet farther ahead, and the angle will reduce the height of the gun. This is a high-quality product. I have a versa-pod adapter on all of my guns, and all of my hunting friends already have these bipods. It only takes one second to remove the bipod from one gun and attach it to another.
If you need to sit and hunt, this is the answer.
If you need to hunt while sitting, this is the perfect solution. All other options are too large and cumbersome and get in the way. It only takes 5 seconds to put on in the field, either locked tight or loose and another 5 seconds to take off. This product combines the benefits of shooting sticks with the stability of a bipod, giving you the best of both worlds. I have versa-pod adapters on all of my guns and both a prone and sitting version, so I can use them on any gun in any situation. This is a great product.
I purchased this model as an improved replacement for the previous "sitting bipod"
I purchased this model as an upgrade from my previous "sitting bipod" model, which I have used heavily for several years (it still works, but I wanted a backup). The previous model was too short for comfortable sitting (especially for tall people). In contrast, this new model is even longer (32" max) than the modification I made to the previous one to increase comfort. The lock-up feature for elevation and windage adjustments by "sway" helps engage targets at longer distances (300-500 yards), but for most varmint hunting (100-300 yards), the sway adjustment is beneficial for quickly engaging targets. The leg extensions are slightly spring-loaded, making them easy to deploy in the field. Overall, this bipod is a great choice for the walking, stalking hunter who sits or kneels while shooting.
