Easy to install and the glow in the dark is ...

These sights were a breeze to install, and the glow-in-the-dark feature is fantastic. I fired my pistol for the first time today (during the day) with my new sights, and my groupings were excellent. I have no complaints and I'm thrilled with this investment. I chose the orange color, and these sights are far superior to the stock plastic ones. I only required a tool for the front sight, which I purchased for $6.99. I used a hammer with a plastic head and some WD40, waited about five minutes, and easily removed the stock rear sight. I didn't need to buy a pricey $30 tool. I highly recommend these sights.

The sights are excellent, but I regret installing them on my G41 instead of my G19. The G41's long slide doesn't require the extra-thin front sight, and it would have been better suited for the G19. For the G19, I opted for Truglo TFO (fiber+tritium) sights, which are much thicker and boxier. The front sight almost fills the rear notch, leaving little to no gap. In comparison, the Trijicon sights' front sight appears small in the midst of a lot of open space. I can't say for sure, but I have noticed that I'm slightly more accurate with the G19 at a distance, and it's consistently better. Nevertheless, I'm pleased with the Trijicon sights and won't be changing them. While sights barely matter for close-range self-defense, the open notch and thin front sight provide a better view of the target when focusing on the sights.

I purchased a set of TruGlow sights a few weeks ago, but I wasn't satisfied with the fit or brightness. So, for my second set, I opted to try a different brand, and I'm happy to say that it was a wise decision! These sights fit perfectly without requiring any modifications to the sights or my pistol, and they are significantly brighter. I was able to install both the front and rear sights in less than 15 minutes from start to finish. If you're installing the rear sight on a Glock, I recommend not skimping on a sight pusher. I personally use an MGM sight pusher, and it works like a charm.

My primary goal was to add night sights for low light and no light conditions, but I'm particularly impressed with the Trijicon night sights because of their superior sight picture compared to the standard Glock design. The thinner front sight and wider "U"-shaped rear sight of the Trijicon sights provide much better accuracy, especially at longer distances. I've had them installed on my .40-caliber Glock 23 for years and used them successfully in a 2-day defensive handgun course at Front Sight in Pahrump, NV. Recently, I ordered the same Trijicon night sights for my new Glock 21 SF .45 ACP and Glock 43 9mm, and had a gunsmith install them. With both pistols, I noticed a significant improvement in groupings at the range at a distance of 15 yards. In my opinion, the Trijicon night sights are well worth the cost.

If you're using a MOS (red dot) sight, I would recommend against buying these iron sights. However, if you have a firearm that doesn't support a red dot, these standalone iron sights are a great option. I have personally mounted them on my Glock 19x and S&W M&P 2.0, and I'm planning to mount them on my recently purchased H&K VP9 and SIG P320C. If you're using a red dot and need a backup system, I suggest getting plain suppressor height sights. It's best to keep the backup sights in the lower 1/3 of the red dot window, with the red dot up and away from the sights. Most red dots, including Trijicon, won't co-witness. I had a RMR and Trijicon irons on my Glock 45 for my service weapon, and they did not co-witness. In my agency, we take a 10-hour transition course from irons to MOS. One aiming method we use is to place tape across the front of the MOS, which allows you to see the dot but not through the optic. Using two eyes, you simply overlay the red dot on the threat as seen by the other eye. If you're primarily looking through the MOS, you're not using it as you should. It's not the same as a red dot on a rifle. Currently, I'm using a Holosun 507 on my Glock 45 with a CH Precision plate and plain Trijicon night sights, which are suppressor height but still low in the window. I don't need to see those irons unless the red dot goes out (and they're required by my agency for just such an occurrence). If you're not a two-eye shooter, MOS red dots on a pistol can be challenging. As a firearms instructor with a sheriff agency in Arizona and a retired Army officer with experience in Viet Nam, I can attest to the usefulness of these sights. They allow me to see the threat in the big "U" shaped rear sight and narrow front sight, providing very good accuracy. They also help me hit a man torso steel at 100 meters routinely. My background includes a BA in anthropology/archeology and nearly an MS in South East Asian Cultures. I've noticed that some of the stuff being taught is out of date compared to my experience, so I stopped spending money in school and went back to South East Asia to teach English. I do get good-natured ribbing from my younger colleagues, but I have no issues with them. I just want everyone to be safe and go home at the end of their shift. In conclusion, these sights are excellent, and as a sergeant once told me at Vietnamese scout school, "if you can see it, you can hit it."

All my pistols came with white three dots; put Trijicon night brights on my carry gun, and those are pretty nice.... until I put these on my G20. The green-painted front sight jumps out at you in daylight, and the luminescent dots work in the dark. Put orange HD XR's on my wife's shield and she prefers them over the big dot she tried. All my friends that have shot my G20 with these sights love em and say they want em on their guns too. Also, I am glad I got the XR's; I like the big U cut in the rear sight and thinner front sight. I like the sight picture it gives.

I just installed these on my G29. I have always loved the Trijicon HD sights and the new HD XR's are even better. At close range, the front sight dot is still large enough for quick work, but where these really shine is at longer distances. I was still able to see the target at 25 yards and out to 50 yards. Standard HD's would cover the entire target at those ranges. Highly recommend this product for those wanting to shoot at a distance, or hunt with their handgun.
