This is surprisingly good holographic red dot.

I bought the Sightmark MSpec out of curiosity and ended up absolutely loving it for close-range shooting. As an older man with some vision issues, I really appreciate that the red dot and circle are adjustable and remain vividly bright even in sunlight. The lens is clear, though it's best to avoid touching it with greasy fingers. Setting it up was straightforward, but I’d advise reading the instructions. There was a minor issue with the windage and elevation adjustment screws; the imprinted directional arrows on the unit were incorrect, leading to some initial confusion. For example, adjusting the reticle to the right as indicated actually moved it left, and vice versa. Despite this, it was a minor hiccup, and I managed to zero it easily once I figured that out. After firing 150 rounds over two days, the sight still maintained its zero perfectly. Given its ease of use and robustness, I'm seriously considering getting another one.

I've been using this sight mounted on a 7.62 AK pistol for around 600 to 700 rounds, attached via an Ultimak railed gas tube, and it has proven itself to be reliable and user-friendly. My only slight complaint is that the adjustment clicks could be more distinct during zeroing, but once set, it holds zero exceptionally well. I've removed and reattached it three times while upgrading parts, and it consistently returns to its original accuracy. The battery life has been impressive, and despite not being overly rough with it—no dunking in water or extreme torture—it's held up well against the recoil and heat of the AK, which speaks volumes about its durability. I'm so satisfied with its performance and durability that I've just ordered another Sightmark model for my handgun. The reasonable price is just a bonus; the quality truly stands out.

I have astigmatism and typically wear prescription contact lenses or eyeglasses to correct it. Despite this, I've struggled with using my Eotech 512 for precision shooting, especially at distances like 50 yards, because the 1 MOA center dot appears more like a flame than a dot. Two years ago, I bought the Sightmark SM26010 FMS M-spec red dot, the predecessor to this model, and it was perfect for me. The center dot and the surrounding circle were both crisp and clear, which made me very happy. Recently, I came across the new Sightmark SM26035 FMS M-spec on OpticsPlanet at a fantastic price. I decided to get one for another rifle, and I'm equally pleased with it. Some of the great features include a 2 MOA center dot with a 65 MOA circle around it, an auto-shutoff after 12 hours, and an extremely useful auto-on feature that activates the sight when I pick up the gun. If there's no movement for 5 minutes, it shuts off, which is ideal for home defense like I use it for. The new model also has a retractable lens hood which is helpful when shooting towards the sun.
