The evolution 7" ar15 rail works great. Easy to install with allen head screws. Main body is 7" then bottom section extends a further 3" to protect your piston gas block. Top of front of rail is removed, which perfectly accommodates standard Adams Arms piston system gas block. There are even cut outs in the front of the evo rail to give access to the gas block mounting screws. Came with 2 short and 1 long rail sections, which mount easily. For a full rail on a 14" SBR or a nearly full rail on a 16", add the 4" Evo extension.

I did a bit of shopping and design comparison prior to my selection and purchase of this 9" AR15 handguard. The samson evo rail wasn't the cheapest or most expensive; what drew me in was the extreme ease of mounting (watch the video on their site), built-in tabs for getting the rail aligned and including the extra rails/wrenches for mounting gadgets. Everything was packaged well. All the parts fit with precision; like it was made specifically for my upper even though it's mil-spec parts from just about every manufacturer. Yeah, that's what "spec" parts are supposed to do but that's not always the case. I don't like surprises and this kind of accuracy in machining is sweet. The alignment tabs used to line-up the rails on top have the slightest bit of play but that's required due to the clamp utilizing the standard barrel nut for assembly. If the barrel nut is a hair off-center, there's just enough wiggle room to line up the top rails. My Magpul accessories were a snug fit on the rails but not impossible to assemble. I would rather have a tight fit than the opposite. The rails mount very securely to the handguard and are instantly aligned by design. Plenty of clearance for a lo-pro gas block. For my latest upper build I would buy this again without reservation. Great job Samson.

I originally bought the samson evolution because they were compatible with the Adams arms xlp piston system, but now I'm even choosing them for my DI guns. They're lightweight, heavy-duty, pleasing to the eye, but I am really passionate about free float handguards that adapt to a standard mil-spec barrel nut. These also seem to index perfectly with the upper receiver, so any front sight sitting on your handguard isn't slightly canted left or right. The finish on these is also flawless, but they cerakote ideally even without sandblasting.

Can't beat the build quality for the price. The Samson Evo rail is relatively lightweight, durable, and looks great. The matte black gives it a rugged look, but it can pick up scratches. Not for a safe queen rifle, but someone who uses it. My only complaint is that the modular rail pieces are tight fits on most foregrips and AFG's. I had to sand down the inside of the Magpul AFG to fit in the short section. All in all, it a good AR-15 Handguard

Excellent AR-15 handguard! I used this on my first AR pistol build. I've assembled several rifles over the years, but this was the first pistol. So onto the review: Pros- Well made. A rock-solid platform to work with. The modular system allows you to place gear where you need it without the added weight of the unused rails. Cons- On my 10" AR pistol, this forearm became extremely hot to the touch after a few quick fired 30th magazines. Ambient temp was around 90*, so it was hot out anyway, but it was more than you wanted to put your bare hand on. This may be a common problem with all AR pistols as this is the first one that I've ever built/fired, of this I'm not sure. Gloves or an AFG quickly solve this issue. I've opted for the Magpul AFG route as I usually carry gloves but have been known to forget them from time to time. Anyway, I hope this helps!

I needed an AR-15 handguard with enough room to mount my HVT under it. This one gives me plenty of clearance for the suppressor. It's lightweight and rigid. Super easy install. I would buy another if I needed it. The only downside is the price. I think it's a bit higher than it should be. right

I was looking for a free-float AR handguard that was easy on the hand and easy to install. The Samson EVO Rail fits the bill. You still have to get the barrel nut off, but beyond that, no problems. You can put the included rail section where you need them. It brought my groups on an M&P AR 15 from 4 inches to a quarter size circle at 75 yards. Seven of the ten shots were actually touching. Very happy with the Samson EVO Rail.

I loved my Samson 12" Evolution Rail System so much I chose to buy another 10" rail, and it's pretty slick. The fit and finish on their rails are second to none. I ended up purchasing a AR verticle grip with the rail. I threw their hand/barricade stop on this for my 10.5" 300BO pistol build.

Great rail, and the best deal I could find on it. Shipped fast, and the folks were easy to deal with. Got a veterans discount too! A+!
