Best buy for my rifle yet

Samson is known for their sturdy hand guards, and this one is no different. I have a Molot VEPR with an RPK barrel, so Samson customized the barrel clamp to fit over the oversized trunion. It took a bit of extra time to receive, but it was well worth the wait. The installation and adjustment were straightforward and the end result is fantastic.

It's been a little difficult to find the "just right" handguard that I wanted for the Zastava M70 rifle. Some just had an "acquired taste" in the looks department, while others just looked lack luster. I've purchased Samson products before and they are well fabricated in my opinion. This piece was no disappointment either. For starters, it actually fit the Zastava, I had purchased 2 other handguards that claimed to be for the Zastava M70 but did not or you had to cut-off the sling point for them to work. I was not willing to do that. With this Samson K-rail you do not! It is a very snug fit, which is great. So when assembling it, just start the provided hardware. After everything is in place then tighten it all down to specs. It fits very nice,very tight and very clean. I did have to slightly file the front upper inside corners of the lower handguard. However; it is toward the inside and once assembled it is not seen.

There was some confusion with the instructions. The instructions written are for a century arms WASR style AK, but this rail is ONLY DESIGNED FOR A YUGOSLAVIAN PATTERN AK RIFLE (an m70) If you do not have an m70 this isn’t the rail for you. If you have a new zastava m70 (or even an old m70) it will work. There is a clamp that locks onto the barrel, the instructions that come with the rail say you need to put the clamp overtop of the rear sight block, BUT for the m70 the clamp goes on in front of the rear sight block, flush against it. The only problem is some of the screws are not long enough to connect to the inner clamp going through the rail, but it still holds tight. The rail looks awesome, there is just a little figuring it out for an m70.

THIS PRODUCT WILL NOT FIT CENTURY AK47 Clamp/ rail screws provided with handguard are not long enough to complete installation. So if you buy this product and find out it won't fit the one thing it states it fits, you still can't finish the build completely to use it as a paperweight.

I purchased this for my last deployment. The company rushed one out to me as I was getting ready to leave. I was impressed. It was exactly what I was looking for. Fit finish, and everything was awesome. It gave me the ability to mount laser, light, and grip. I took it overseas, and it held up. It is made to withstand hardship, and the mounting mechanism is solid. I do not mind the weight same weight as my scar. So i carried this on an AK instead of the scar. It held up for six months in Afghanistan. I wish Samson would continue to improve this rail. I would like to see it with Keymod on the 3,6 and 9.
