A Very Good Substitute
I was looking for a Canjar 2 oz. For a 700P .308 like I had on a custom XP in .308 when a gunsmith friend told me of the Rifle Basics trigger. He said that it was an excellent trigger for a lot less. This trigger is just as good, if not better. I'm pleased with it. It came with good instructions and went right in with no problems.
Excellent trigger
These basix triggers are excellent replacements for remmington 700s. Straight forward install, safety works properly, the break is very crisp, little to no creep, and a big shoe if you like that. Rifle basix does not include adjustment instructions, but they answer their phone when you call and will help with set up. Lot better than the 40x, a bit better than a timney.
These Rifle Basix triggers are great!!
Installation is easy with the instructions provided; this is the third bench rest rifle that I installed a Rifle Basix aftermarket trigger in, the quality is outstanding, and it was adjusted to 8 oz pull and 0 creeps right out of the box. I shot a 6 round string with a group of.224 at 100 yds. I couldn't come close to that with the stock Remington trigger, don't get me wrong, the Rem trigger was constructed very well, but the performance just wasn't there
Excellent Remington 700 Trigger
I have bought Rifle Basix triggers, or trigger kits, for a bunch of different rifles. All work as advertised and was easy to install. This Remington trigger is excellent. I have probably installed half a dozen with no problems and good results. With all Remington trigger work, you need to clean out the holes in the receiver with a 1/8" drill and turn the trigger pins in your drill with fine emery paper. Make short pins to hold the trigger together if you can. To reinstall, insert the front pin first from the side opposite the safety, then swing the trigger up out of the way. Install the rear pin from the safety side first. Push it in partway, just enough to hold the bolt stop and spring in place, then swing the trigger down into place and push the rear pin through.
Excellent Remington VTR trigger for the price.
Excellent trigger for the price. My Remington VTR is now a real shooter due to the lower pull weight of the Rifle Basic trigger.
Rifle Basix remington 700 trigger
Having spent many $$$ on "trigger jobs" at gunsmiths, I decided to venture into this mysterious field myself. I was working with a Remington 700 VTR .223. I tried the Timney first (because of its name), but it required modifying the custom thumbhole stock to make the receiver reseat in the stock. NOT INTERESTED IN THAT! Then I bought this Rifle Basix... Very good instructions, went in easily in about 30 minutes (I am not a gunsmith), and it worked perfectly. WOW. What a trigger feel, release, pull improvement. The 8oz is too light for the field, but the two # adjustment seems cool, still with a very crisp-light pull. Just make sure that you are READY-TO-SHOOT B4 you touch it with your finger. SWEET.
