NcSTAR Micro Red Dot Optic with On/Off Switch
The NcStar Micro Red Dot sight with head-upp display is an optic designed for ultra-fast target acquisition. Ideally used as a close-range additional sight for mounting on a zoom scope, our tests have shown that it is also very useful as a stand-alone device due to its compact size and the crisp visibility of the red dot. great ruger 10/22 red dot
Mounted this on a 10/22, and it works like a charm. Easy to install as well. Very pleased with my choice. Like the on/off switch as well.
Alright, but could definitely be better. Light, and strong housing
Seems to be more for rifles with little eye-relief. I put this on a 9mm handgun, and the further away your eye gets from the dot, the less of a dot it becomes. Not to mention the fact that at arm's length, the red-dot bleeds into the top of the glass. Hard to explain, but I'd probably get something a little more expensive. This does the trick if you don't want to spend too much money. Haven't taken it to the range, so no idea if it holds zero.
Overall it gets the job ...
Overall it gets the job done. The main problem: the dot is blurry. So far, I have not had any problems with it holding/adjusting to zero. I've only had it on a mk3 ruger; it's a good plinking/hunting sight not a target sight.
I bought this sight
I bought this sight before reading the reviews on this page, so I was worried. But when the sight arrived, I was surprised to find it was actually a nice little sight, making me wonder about the kind of shooters wrote them. I had none of the problems listed above. The switch didn't fall off, nor did the lens, and the parallax of the sight is acceptable. I put it on my Camp 9 with a choate collapsible stock for shooting in carbine competitions. It works fine. I think that the reviewers should know what they are talking about. Maybe they should step up and pay $600 for an EOTech and have someone show them how to shoot it.
