Mesa Tactical SureShell - Remington 870 20 Gauge Shell Holder (6-Shell Side Saddle)

Shell holder carriers are milled from 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum, then bead blasted and mil-spec hard anodized for a rugged non-glare finish. They are secured to application-specific brackets, and include high temperature adhesive-backed die-cut rubber gaskets to protect the host shotgun’s finish.

Overview teh Mesa Tactical SureShell

Mesa Tactical SureShell shotshell carriers are available in three configurations: four-shell, six-shell and eight-shell. The six-shell and eight-shell configurations can be installed on the left side of the receiver, while the four-shell carriers can be installed on either side of the receiver. Carriers can also be installed pointed back toward the stock.

The principle difference between one model of SureShell and another, aside from capacity, is the backing plate, which is designed to mount the carrier assembly on a particular model of shotgun. Side-mount Mesa Tactical SureShell shotshell carriers for Mossberg , Remington and Benelli M1 shotguns use the trigger group pin holes to secure the assemblies to the weapon; the Benelli M2 Tactical, Benelli M4/M1014, Benelli SuperNova Tactical and some Mossberg 500/590 versions take advantage of the factory-tapped rail mounting holes in the tops of these shotguns and include integrated Pictanny optics mounting rails; another version with an integrated rail is the saddle-mount design for Remington; SureShell Carriers for M4 SOPMOD stocks feature special hardware for attachment to these buttstocks; Adapter Mount SureShell shotshell carriers are designed to be attached to Mesa Tactical Telescoping Stock Adapter accessory

Platforms for the 870 20 Gauge Side Saddle

The SureShell Aluminum Shotshell Carrier is available for the following 20 gauge shotgun platforms:

• Remington 870, Remington 1100, Remington 11-87

Remington 870/1100/11-87

The Sureshell receiver mounting system for Remington 870, 1100 and 11-87 shotguns uses a combination of steel fasteners threaded into a steel pin (at the rear) and paired Chicago screws (up front) for more secure attachment to the shotgun without the risk of pinching the receiver. The mounting plate even features a window over the shotgun serial number location, to make it easier for armorers to inventory their weapons.

Note, SureShell aluminum shotshell carriers cannot be installed on right side of Remington semi-auto shotguns. To use a six- and eight-shot SureShell carrier mounted on the left side of the Remington 870 shotgun, you must use a tactical forend that does not overlap the receiver, or a factory forend that is cut down appropriately.

SureFire® forends are fully compatible with our six-shot SureShell carriers, but will need about ½ inch shaved off the end to be installed with Mesa Tactical eight-shot SureShell carriers. Remington side mount SureShell carriers are available in both 12 gauge and 20 gauge models.
