Although I would have given this product a five-star rating, the fit was just a tad tight. I had to file the item's surface ever so slightly to get it to fit correctly. I don't want this to discourage anyone from purchasing, but I do want to give a heads up that you may need to spend an extra two minutes finding a file and giving the part a few strokes to achieve a perfect fit.

Initially, I had my doubts about this product, but given its affordable price point, I decided to give it a try. Compared to its bulky, metallic, and expensive predecessors, this Magpul magwell is a refreshing change. However, as someone with a large hand who uses the (L) large backstrap, I had to exclude it to test it out properly. I also had some concerns about the difficulty of stripping a magazine out of it, if necessary. Aside from these minor drawbacks, I have to say that the Magpul magwell exceeded my expectations. It doesn't change how I carry, and it's just as comfortable as it was before. It looks great and is made of polymer, which allowed me to dremel it out and fit it for use with my backstrap in just a few minutes. I tested it by feeding it from all sorts of off angles, trying to force it to fail, but it passed every time. If Magpul had designed it to work with backstraps, it would have earned a five-star rating from me. Nonetheless, it's an easy-to-install, well-designed, and great-value product that I would recommend to anyone considering using a magwell. Whether for everyday carry or not, it's definitely worth the investment.

The Magpul magwell fits perfectly and provides excellent protection for the original edge to prevent damage. When installing, be sure to fully insert it into the rear space and push it against a table or door to align the screw that fits into the lanyard hole. It's crucial to avoid using the screw itself to align the rest of the way, as this could damage the Glock rear hole. Once installed, the fit is tight, and the magwell's construction is of harder plastic than the Glock Polymer. This makes it an excellent choice for tactical use, as it can withstand a lot of wear and tear.

Greetings fellow Glock enthusiasts! As someone who has come to appreciate the function over form of these "Tupperware guns", I've grown to love my issued Glock and have found it to be a reliable and dependable firearm. The Magpul magwell is by far the easiest and most economical upgrade you can make, and I've found that it has significantly improved my reload speed. The only minor issues I have encountered are that 1) a wrench was not included (although this may have been a fluke) and 2) it's easy to screw in the set screw too far, which can cause the unit to release from the grip. However, Magpul applied ample thread locker, so by backing out the screw a few turns, the problem can easily be resolved, and everything feels secure. Although I've only put a few hundred rounds through my G17 with this magwell installed, I'm already impressed with its performance. Kudos to Magpul for producing another fantastic product!

Installed the glock 17 magpul magwell today. I had to take off the smallest amount of material (I literally just gave it one pass of a scrape with a knife) from one edge that locks up in the frame just to get it started then tap it in the rest of the way with a delrin tipped hammer. The fit is quite tight, but not in such a manner that it was difficult to install or causes any kind of warping that may introduce friction in the magazine well of the frame. I can't detect any difference in the lock up/drop free smoothness using my Magpul GL9 mags (sorry, no OEM mags on hand to test with). Overall, great part. The fitting was so minor I won't even ding it down a star in this review since the whole install took me less than a minute.

The Magpul magwell glock 17 gen 4 was installed in less than 5 minutes on dead stock Glock 17 Gen 4 MOS. Clean, solid, fit and appearance. Doesn't look like an add-on. Provides a generous guide to aid magazine changes. Works well with standard Glock and Magpul magazines. If you have to pull your magazine out, there is not much of the magazine base available to grasp. My mags fall out very easily - so this isn't much of an issue. Completely satisfied with purchase.

Put mine on a gen4 35 mos. I modified the bottom of the backstrap I use instead of the magwell. Works just fine. Going to order another one to use on my duty weapon.

I bought one of these for my Gen 4 Glock 17, and it works great! The magwell practically slurps the magazines up into the gun. It was easy to install and for the money a great addition to any Glock's you own. I highly recommend it if you are interested in a small but very usable upgrade to your Glock. I will be putting them on every Glock I have!
