Good improvement over factory Remington 700 stock
This Magpul stock was for a Remington 700 SPS. The gun was just not producing good groups with any ammo including 23 different variations of hand loads. 2in groups at 100y, at 400y and beyond the wheels just come off and it was difficult to hit 4 foot targets. The Hogue stock was like shooting with on a pool noodle. It flexed entirely too much. I tried using a dremel, taking out the rough spots, sanding it down, adding shims to pillars etc to make it truly a free-float (its not from factory) Still only mild improvements. Gave up on it and bought the Magpul stock. Easy change over. Very nice and tight fit. I also go the mag well option, Mag release is a little awkward but fine once you get used to it - its not a race gun after all, mag fit is solid and engages/releases well. Took about 20 minutes as I did some extra cleaning too since I had it broke down. I use locktight on the pillar screws, some folks don't but I wasn't taking chances of having any movement. Adjusted the length of pull about 5/8 of inch and she was set. Grip is comfortable but I like a little more of a curve into my palm (right handed). This is obviously made for ambi use. Overall good setup and much improved over Hogue stock. Reshot 12 different types of ammo. Settled on ELD-X 178gr as I was getting .7 inch groups off of bi-pod. Redid my range card and headed to the long distance range. I was able to successfully engage 6in & 10in plates out to 600 yards with minor DOPE adjustments. Stock did its job a new trigger would help. I give it 4 stars because it is an excellent value some of the finish work on the stock could be better. The dimples lets call them for spots to add bipod or sling posts would be better if pre-drilled. The grip could benefit from allowing replacement of palm swell plates but for now nothing a little tape doesn't fix. The free-float is good but barrels do flex a lot. I'd like to see about 2mm more of free-float gap.
Awesome stRemington 700 stockock
Awesome Remington 700 stock and fit was very nice. Easy to install and I highly recommend adding the mag well. I plan on buying a couple more for my Remingtons. Cant beat the price and the adjustability of this Magpul stock. Also the stock is very comfortable for precision shooting and I plan on using it for deer hunting.
magpul hunter 700
This Remington 700 stock is of quality construction. The fit and finish are perfect. I also ordered the trigger guard with a detachable five-round magazine. Fit and function were flawless, so I ordered the new ten round mag. I highly recommend Magpul products.
remington 700 magpul stock
This Remington 700 stock has typical Magpul value/quality. The Magpul 700 stock feels good in hand has solid bedding and completely floated barrel. Options are left open for sling or bipod mount, so plan if you would like to shoot with either.
Amazing Remington 700 stock!
The magpul hunter 700 Looks fantastic, feels fantastic, very durable, and is of excellent quality. Free floats my factory bull barrel properly, easy to install, and adds more tactical options. Couple this with the removable magazine kit, and it just makes shooting and reloading so much more fun. The low price for what you get with this stock is the icing on the cake.
The Magpul hunter 700 stock is Great low-cost chassis system
Bought two of these Remington 700 Magpul stocks, one for the wife's new rem 700 in 308 hvy bar, and one for my same gun. Switched mine from the Bell and Carlson to the Hunter 700 and put the B&C on my Rem 700 in .223. The wife said there was a noticeable difference in less recoil from the B&C to the Magpul hunter 700 stock. All we do with them is target shoot from the bench and prone.
Very pleased with the Magpul hunter 700
I've had long wanted a detachable box magazine, and improved feeding function from my 700 chambered in 308--this cartridge infamously does not feed well from the internal magazine of the 700 short actions. I also wanted a more rigid stock than the Houge that came on my rifle from Remington. I was a little concerned that this stock was going to be a bit flimsy--it is not at all. Buy with confidence--another inexpensive, handy, quality Magpul Stock. Fit to my Remington 700 "AAC-SD" is perfect. The magazine design and function are wonderful--don't buy this stock without the magwell! This is not just as good as a Bell and Carson stock with an ACIS magwell, but dollar for dollar, it is far better.
Love the Magpul hunter 700 BUT NOT for non-standard trigger
I love the stock, but I'm going to have to modify my Timney trigger or the trigger guard. I have the straight trigger Timney. The curved one probably works find. Not sure why Magpul had to make such an odd trigger guard.
Remington 700 Magpul stock is a Great Stock for the price
When I purchased my Remington 700 SPS, I wasn't happy with the grouping. I found the Hogue stock it came with, although felt really comfortable to shoot, actually had a pillar bedding system in it. Also, the stock was just slightly rubbing the barrel (not so much a free-floating barrel). I read up on the reviews on the Magpul Hunter 700 and decided to give it a try. I especially like the aluminum bedding block. It doesn't feel as good as the Hogue factory stock but still feels comfortable to shoot. Overall I am now getting sub MOA at 100 yards.
Magpul hunter 700 stock is Worth it
I am so happy I got the Hunter 700 stock and magazine system! I did not have any issues with the gap between the barrel and the fore-end, and I did not have any issues with the seams like some. I trusted my life to Magpul products on multiple combat deployments, and I was never let down when I need the products or them they were always right there getting the job done just like myself and my Marines were. I do not see myself investing close to a thousand for a chassis system/Manners/McMillan type stock, 150 plus for a DBM bottom metal, and then gunsmithing now that I have the complete Magpul Hunter 700 system. Wish I had this on my M40 A3/5 that's how much I love this thing
Remington 700 Magpul stock
I love to feel and fit of this stock, and the addition of the box magazine was a great bonus. The only problem I had was that the Magpul trigger guard touched the factory trigger. I did not want to sand/file the trigger guard. I talked to Timney for suggestions. They went out and purchased a Hunter 700 stock and confirmed that the 510 would fit, which it did correctly. I can't wait to get this set up on the range.
Hunter 700
Same issue with trigger guard as others. Still functions. Nice stock.
