I initially thought the small window of the red dot sight would make it difficult to locate the dot, but in practice, it lines up intuitively in the same sight plane as the front sight, effectively replacing the rear sight. This alignment makes it incredibly instinctive to locate. Typically, I prefer larger 5-8 MOA dots, but the brightness of this 3 MOA dot compensates well, even with my astigmatism. I've been carrying this on my hip with my S&W M&P .40 for about 8 weeks now without any issues.

I recently installed a red dot sight on my Smith and Wesson M&P .40 Shield Compact, and I've been quite fond of it since I first saw it a few weeks ago. However, I've encountered a couple of issues. Firstly, the 3 MOA dot is somewhat large for the sight picture when set to daylight brightness, which can be a bit overwhelming. Secondly, the design of the sight requires it to be removed to field strip the pistol because the battery compartment interferes with the striker trigger actuator in the lower receiver; you absolutely cannot remove the slide with the optic in place. This means I have to rezero the sight every time I clean or maintain the firearm, which is a bit of a hassle. Despite these issues, there are several features I really appreciate: the closed emitter system, the mirrored front glass that enhances visibility, the ease of using the adjustment button, and the fact that the battery can be replaced without removing the optic. Its compact size is also a major plus as it doesn’t snag on holsters, making it practical for everyday carry.

I recently purchased a red dot sight for my M&P 40, and it has met all my expectations so far. It's durable, the dot is clear enough, and installation was straightforward—just be careful not to drop the firing pin safety spring guide! The sight's small viewing tube presents a mixed bag: it limits the field of view but its low profile is advantageous, and it effectively functions as an aperture sight alongside the stock front sight. The battery compartment and power button protrude from the back of the slide, which is a bit odd, but it's a minor issue considering there aren't many other placement options. While the price is on the higher side, it offsets the potential costs of slide machining. Overall, this sight is a solid choice for owners of compatible firearms, including Glocks.

I recently mounted the Leupold DeltaPoint Micro Red Dot Sight on my S&W M&P 2.0 Compact, which I carry regularly. I'm surprised this red dot doesn't get more attention—it's fantastic. Installation was a breeze; it didn't require an optics-ready model or any modifications. The sight is extremely accurate and stable, with the red dot maintaining its position perfectly. I also appreciate how easy it is to change the battery without having to remove and realign the sight, a common hassle with other models. Its low profile is another major plus, fitting my standard carry holster without any issues. The whole setup process, from mounting to sighting in, took hardly any time—just five minutes to install and about five rounds to adjust. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this red dot sight.

I've found this sight to be excellent for bullseye competition and speed steel shooting. It's low-profile, robust, and seems like it could survive a drop onto concrete—something I'm less certain about with those reflex types that have large windows. The brightness settings are well-suited for both low light conditions and bright daylight. I've even made a few suggestions to a Leupold representative: switching to click settings for elevation and windage adjustments for better precision, deepening the front lens shield to protect against smudges from water or oil, and redesigning the battery housing to eliminate the need to remove it before dismounting the slide from the frame. I'm really glad I bought it. The sight works so well on my S&W M&P9 2.0 that it's inspired me to consider purchasing my first Glock just to see how it performs with another model. The way the illumination cranks up and highlights the steel plate makes shooting almost instinctive. While I'm not sure how well it would adapt to other Smith & Wesson models like the EZ or original M&P due to potential mismatches in slide-to-receiver geometry, it's worth trying out since it could potentially be returned for a refund if incompatible. Overall, a big thumbs up to Leupold for this design!
