I bought two of these optics for my kids, and here's my take on them: Pros: The optics boast clear glass with hardly any parallax or point of impact shift, and the controls are smooth with distinct clicks. I find the circle dot reticle sharper and the package lighter and more compact compared to Eotech's, despite some benefits of Eotech's holographic reticle. An added advantage is the ability to switch to just the dot. There's no shake awake feature, contrary to some misinformation, which simplifies operation and potentially reduces malfunction points. For home defense, we just leave it on, confident the battery will last for years, favoring this battery setup over models with battery trays. Cons: The product is manufactured in China, and the mount is subpar. While compatible with Aimpoint mounts, the height doesn't conform to the standard. My kids use Larue and Giessele mounts for absolute co-witness, positioning the optics at a lower 1/3 height, which isn't ideal. Conclusion: The durability of these optics is yet to be fully tested; however, after several thousand rounds of .22lr, they've held up well so far. The circle dot reticle is a standout feature for me, but I'm hesitant to repurchase unless Holosun shifts production out of China. Considering you can find American-made options like the MRO or Aimpoint Pro for around $350 on sale, those might be better alternatives.

I chose this product because of my positive experiences with Holosun, a brand I find reliable. I was looking for an optic with both a dot and a 65-minute circle. Although it was advertised to feature shake awake technology, it turns out it doesn't have it. However, I quickly realized this feature isn't necessary due to the optic's impressive battery life, which exceeds 100,000 hours, potentially lasting close to a decade depending on the used brightness level. While I haven't owned it long enough to comment on its long-term performance, my short-term experience has been very satisfying, and I would definitely recommend it. I believe the seller should update the advertising to focus on the extensive battery life, rendering the shake awake feature somewhat unnecessary.

The user appreciates the Eotech-style reticle for its clarity, ease of identification, and practical holdovers for varying ranges, alongside the "ring of death" for reliable hits at any distance, making it excellent for close-quarters battle (CQB). The ability to switch to a single dot enhances its versatility. However, the user notes the absence of the motion-activated on/off feature found in other, less expensive Holosun models as a drawback. After approximately 450 rounds, the optic has maintained its zero perfectly without any shift.

The Holosun offers superior optical quality compared to the Aimpoint T2, featuring a clearer circle dot reticle in a significantly smaller and lighter design. It delivers exceptional brightness for any condition globally. However, its mount is less satisfactory, requiring an adjustable mount for pairing with a magnifier due to a 3-4mm higher center line than Aimpoint micro mounts. While it lacks Aimpoint's clear flip caps, for casual and recreational activities, it stands out against competitors like Aimpoints, Eotechs, and Trijicons. Despite its advantages, the Holosun's durability hasn't been battle-tested, a significant consideration that remains to be seen over time.
