5.0 out of 5 stars This... is everything I was hoping for. Scope AND a work of art!!!
I am somewhat new to firearms, but I recently acquired a Colt 6920LE M4 prior to the recent surge in interest. I have already replaced the rear iron sight with the mbus by magpul. When I received the scope and mounted it onto the rail, I tried to zero it by using both the iron sights and the scope together (which required a few adjustments). Unfortunately, the bore-sight I ordered at the same time turned out to be faulty, so I had to take some shots without it. A few weeks later, I finally took it out to shoot and was pleasantly surprised by its accuracy - I hit a can at around 50-60 yards and left a 3-4 inch grouping at a box on which the can was placed. While it may not be the most precise zero possible, it feels incredibly accurate to me. Installing it was also easy, and I cannot compare it to other red dots as I have not used any. When it comes to firearms and scopes, I believe in investing in quality, and the Eotech was an easy purchase with no buyer's remorse. Although I had considered other scopes such as the Aimpoint micro t and a Trijicon RMR, if you have the funds, I highly recommend the Eotech - it is worth every penny!
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Sight
The debate between Aimpoint and EOTech can be a contentious one, but as someone who has used both, I can say that I am very happy with my purchase of the EOTech sight for my AR-15. It took a little bit of time to get it zeroed, but I attribute most of that to my own user error. Once I had it set up correctly, it turned my rifle into a highly accurate weapon, even when using cheap ammunition. One thing I appreciate about the EOTech is that it sits closer to the bore axis than the Aimpoint Comp M4, but that's just a personal preference. Another personal preference of mine is the ring around the reticle. It makes finding the dot easier when getting used to the sight, but after enough drills, you will naturally draw to the dot and won't need the ring to find the point of aim. The ring is also useful if you find yourself needing a 7-meter zero in an emergency situation. Having a single dot for a point of aim is nice in my case. With an AR-15, there is no need for graduated dots out to multiple hundreds of meters since the weapon becomes less effective at those ranges. This means the reticle doesn't become cluttered, which is a bonus. Compared to other sights like the Aimpoints, the battery life of the EOTech isn't as long, but it still provides plenty of hours of use. Overall, I think the EOTech is a great sight, and I'm very happy that I bought it. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
Eotech vs. Aimpoint vs. Trijicon
The EOTech sight has several advantages that make it a great option for shooters. First, its transverse single CR123 battery prevents the recoil from large rifles from causing movement of the battery. Additionally, it is the smallest and lightest EOTech yet, which makes it easy to handle and use. The center dot on the reticle is 1 MOA, which makes long-range shots over 100 yards much easier as compared to the 2 and 4 MOA dots on the Aimpoints. The EOTech also has an unlimited field of view and a large lens for the reticle to be displayed on, which is square compared to the round lenses on Aimpoints and Trijicons. If you add a magnifier to it, the EOTech becomes a scope that is also night vision ready (model-specific). One disadvantage of the EOTech is that it uses batteries and does not self-adjust brightness like Trijicons. Aimpoints also use batteries, but they can last up to seven years, whereas I've had to change mine once in the two years I've owned it. However, this is not a significant con, and it's worth mentioning as it's the only disadvantage I can see compared to the other two brands. Overall, I'm extremely happy with my choice of the EOTech. The reticle on Aimpoints is excellent for pinpoint shooting with the 1 MOA center dot, but it can get lost or blend in with targets. In contrast, the design of the EOTech puts the battery and electronics of the unit as close to the rifle as possible, and the only thing in your line of sight is the protective aluminum hood protecting the glass. The only other option I would ever consider is the Trijicon TriPower, and that would only be if I thought I would never be able to get batteries for mine again. Additionally, when comparing the top models of the three brands, the EOTech is the cheapest. As far as durability goes, I've seen one that was shot through both panes with a 9mm and still worked fine. I've had mine for years, and it has never come off zero from when I first sighted it in. These sights are almost unbreakable. Although an ACOG would be nice, I'll stick with my EOTech and go buy another gun instead. Hopefully, this review will help you make the decision that's right for you so you won't spend six months debating before buying one, like I did.

Great sight. I selected the EOTech after a lot of research and made the right choice. The dot within a 65moa circle makes target acquisition extremely fast. The optics are great. Just what I had hoped for.
l like it
Put on a Tavore SAR. Shoots to the point of iron sights. Follow the instructions on adjustment clicks, or you could waste a lot of ammo. Last group of 3 just a little bigger than a quarter at 100yrds from a rest. Little concerned about the thermal shift, but I doubt I will be out at a minus 41 degree temp.

XPS3-0: Eotech Transverse XPS 3 Red Dot Sight
Yeah, there are several other great site systems and companies, but for the money, application, reliability, and ease of use, I think EOTech is the best Holographic Weapon Sight (HWS) systems on the market. I chose the EOTech XPS3 because of its shorter length to mount on my SR556. It not only looks good, but the XPS3 was so easy to install and zero in. It works well, without any hindrance, at allowing full use of the original folding battle sites that came with the weapon. I also purchased EOTech because if it's good enough for the U.S. military and police, it surely is good enough for this law-abiding citizen.
Eotech XPS3-0
I've been an Eotech fan for many years. The XPS-series has made an already excellent product even better. Any battery-contact issues are addressed by the transverse-mounted battery, and the model retains the outstanding peripheral vision associated with all Eotechs. Functioning has been flawless. The EOTech xps3 mounting height maintains the absolute co-witness with iron sights that I prefer.
Very Intuitive
Easy setup; very natural for use in both target acquisition and maintaining field of view. I am buying the magnifier to extend the utility of the product. I highly recommend the EOTech xps3. The only complaint is that controls on the back are difficult to reach and still keep weapon trained on field of fire. It seems newer models have buttons on the side, which I suspect is a better option.
Excellent Sight
This xps3 EOTech sight is excellent, probably the fastest you can buy to throw up and shoot. I personally would rather a knob for the brightness adjustment, but the buttons are excellent quality. I also would like some flip-up covers included with it. However, to me, this is still the best non-magnified sight you can get. I have mine on a rock river dominator mount on my ar15, and the open sights are in the bottom of your view, still usable, but not in the way. Looking through the irons, the dot is right on top of the front post, but just looking through the EOTech slightly above the rear, the eotech's circle rests just above the front irons with the bottom line touching the top of the front post. If you mounted it straight to your rail, I think the open sights would be closer to the middle of your view and you would probably want a flip rear sight, although it would still work without it.
Eotech XPS3-1
As a person who has always used a scope for shooting, I find the EOTech setup to be phenomenal. It increases your situational awareness when shooting, as your face is not buried inside a scope during target acquisition. To be specific, the EOTech XPS3-1 was a great purchase. I love the simplicity of the single red dot and the overall compactness of the unit, which leaves room for additional components. My only gripe is that the on/off buttons should be located on the side of the unit, instead of below the sight glass. After I installed my ARMS folding rear sight, the buttons became challenging to reach and use quickly. Other than that, I highly recommend this unit!
EOTech XPS3-0 on SG553
The EOTech xps3 has Easy to catch the target due to 1MOA dot in 65 MOA ring. An excellent choice for guns like AR15. Possible limits - weapons where bolt handling is close to the sight - this model is wide, and there is a risk of uncomfortable handling with bolt - this is my case with SG553.
