DPM Recoil Reduction System for SPRINGFIELD HELLCAT 3.0 Inch Barrel 9MM
This system works due to the multi spring intricate rod (three springs) and controls the functionality of the pistol. The third spring which is contained within the rod controls the movement of the slide so it never rams on the frame. The slide extended system is an innovation of DPM Systems Technologies and it is available only for the subcompact pistols.
The system includes three separate springs so the shooter can fine-tune the weapon for his/her personal standards. The longer spring (more coils) is stronger and has a heavier pound rating than the shorter spring.
The spring plug should always be Installed when the DPM Recoil Rod and springs are used.

I really like the DPM recoil system. I personally felt a noticable difference as soon as I used it. I will definitely use this system for my future builds.

Hellcat Pro - DPM Recoil Reduction
When compared to the original Hellcat or the Smith & Wesson Shield, the Hellcat Pro's recoil feels more like the four-inch M&P or Glock 19. This could be because of its slightly longer barrel and grip. However, always remember, grip and stance fundamentals are key regardless of the weapon or its recoil system. I recently tested products from DPM that alter the recoil impulse of pistols. Although DPM provided me with products to review, you know I'll always be brutally honest. So, let's dive into it: the package from DPM includes three springs of different lengths, a new guide rod, and two spring retainers. The spring system is quite interesting, allowing you to customize the recoil impulse by mixing and matching springs and retainers. After considerable testing, shooting primarily 124 grain AAC ammo through my Hellcat Pro, and going through several spring combinations, here's my take: The longer spring felt too forceful in pushing the gun's nose down after shooting. After trials, I found that the short spring with the short retainer provided the best performance, with smoother recoil and better rapid-fire results. It required some adjustment in my grip technique, but the change was worth it. For those considering the DPM springs, I'd say don't keep swapping springs in quick succession – you won't feel the difference. Commit to a combination, adjust your grip, and you'll start seeing improvements. I'll be comparing the DPM springs' recoil reduction to other techniques, like porting and comps, in the future. But for now, the DPM springs are a keeper for my personal Hellcat Pro. In conclusion, if you're interested in modifying your Hellcat Pro's recoil, I'd highly recommend the DPM recoil reduction system.
Great performance Easy Install
Put in the medium spring then the strongest one. Love it made my hellcat much easier to shoot.
unknown
came with three springs, and no directions. all three springs equal in length with one being gold instead of silver. contacted seller and they said they would contact manufacturer, never heard from either again. funny how they get to approve or dis-approve this review.
Works, and works better then expected.
Lets face it, recoil and muzzle rise on the Hellcat is terrible. Any improvement was going to be much appreciated. System kit arrived with the medium spring all set up. Kit included a harder, more ridged spring and a softer spring. 3 different springs total. Installed the kit as received. took only seconds. Wow what a difference. Took the sharp snap off of the recoil. Target re-acquisition time was greatly improved. Have yet to try either the harder or softer springs. Will just for comparison sake.
Hellcat DPM Recoil System - Well worth the investment, great product!
Like most striker fire pistols, the Springfield Hellcat has a factory recoil spring/rod that is quite over torqued and heavy. This is not an issue, unless you have arthritis and an amputee with fingers missing in my right hand like I do. The DPM Recoil Reduction System works exactly as advertised. The kit comes with 3 different springs (light, medium and heavy) so you can custom adjust the slide tension and felt recoil. The installation takes less than 2 minutes and is very simple. The DPM is a 3 spring recoil system, where the Springfield factory is a 2 spring recoil rod. The difference is you have less felt recoil, smoother action, less snappy and faster acquisition for shots. The DPM really makes a difference, especially when using hot loaded and heavier rounds. Well worth the investment, a great product.
