Buffer Technologies Ruger, MINI-14/30 Recoil Buffer
The Mini-14/30 Recoil Buffer works the same as the M1A/M14 Buffer, by eliminating the op rod contact with the receiver. The Mini-14/30 Recoil Buffer will protect your operating rod, the weak link in the system, from excessive shock. With a Recoil Buffer installed you'll have less felt recoil, more muzzle stability, less action noise, and will extend the service life of your weapon
The Mini-14/30 Recoil Buffer fits onto the recoil spring guide rod. As with all other models of the Recoil Buffer, installation is simple and can be done without any special tools.
The Mini-14/30 Recoil Buffer differs from others in our line of products, in that it does not end the metal to metal contact of the bolt to receiver. For a Mini-14/30 or M1A/M14 to operate reliably, the bolt must impact the receiver with each firing of the weapon. This contact is required to prevent excessive stress on the roller cam on the side of the bolt.(will not fit series numbered 1801-1809.)

Recoil Buffer for Mini 14-
Good product, seems to quiet down the action noticeably. Instructions on install could be better with some Be Careful notes for re-assembly.
This is the best investment any Mini-14 owner can make.
This is the best investment any Mini-14 owner can make. I have had no problems with my gun. When I first received the buffer, I installed it and took my Mini to the range, and put eight(8) 20rd factory mags through it non-stop. Yeah, it got hot, but I did not have any FTE or FTF. IMHO, all the problems stated were from poor installation or poor magazines. Spend the money, and save your gun!!
I installed this in a new Mini target.
I installed this in a new Mini target. Easy installation; just drops it in—no issues with the bolt locking open or stripping rounds from magazines. I haven't fired the rifle that much, before or after. Just enough to make sure it worked, is all. Time will tell for sure, but it makes sense to stop any slamming of metal on metal if at all possible. Get one. I think you will be happy with it.
Good mini 14 buffer!
The good product really does reduce felt recoil and quiet the action sounds from metal to metal contact. The only complaint I have is that it is a little big for the polymer stock. Tight fit but will go in with a little force. I fixed this problem by grinding on all sides until the stock easily fits. The bolt wouldn't stay open on the last round due to its buffer being too thick. Found down the thickness now works flawlessly. Good product HIGHLY RECOMMENDED just needs a little fitting.
Worth buying
Easy install, and works as described.
Rated 5 out of 5 stars The best bang for your
Best bang for your buck. This is the first thing you should upgrade on your Mini-14. The bolt carrier will not slam into your receiver, no malfunctions in operation, less strain on the rifle, and enhanced accuracy. All them AR-15s have buffers.
Seems decent so far
I’ve fired a few rounds through it so far and it seems to have noticeably improved recoil
Mini 30 Buffer
Good idea but I experienced a noticeable amount of additional pull needed to release bolt from lock back position. From my analysis, the buffer's thickness is not allowing any tolerance to pull back bolt easily from its lock back position. I removed it before going to the range for a test run. I'll be reducing the thickness before remounting. An off the shelf nylon washer that was .125 thick worked much better.

MINI-14/30 Recoil Buffer
The person who said Ruger should include this with each Mini sold was right on. All you need to install it is the phillips screwdriver you use to release the trigger guard. Be sure to hold the recoil spring when you release the guide rod! Installation took me a whole 4 minutes!
Ruger Mini 14 Recoil Buffer
This was a simple installation ,took about 2 min..It should have been in the gun from the factory !
