Protected raw steel knife
Used barricade rust protection to protect high carbon steel knives. Stopped and prevented further rust. Did better than expected. No further rusting while in storage in the sheath.
Great for over 30 years!
I have been using Barricade rust protection since I was a little kid who is well over 30 years ago! It used to be called "Sheath." It has never failed me in all these years. It keeps the rust away and makes the metal look great. It does not leave a thick, gummy residue like other products, so there is nothing to freeze up in the winter. It can be used as a bore cleaner as well! I wipe my guns down with this before storage, and I have never had rust! I like the new disposable wipes, too, as they come in handy to bring with you when traveling away from your home state for a hunt! It's just a great product that has served me well over many many hunting seasons. I highly recommend it.
Multi-Purpose
Bought initially for firearms, but use now extends to Rust Protection of woodworking and other metal tools. Extremely pleased (almost as much as Birchwood Casey from whom I buy lots of this stuff)
Magic
Birchwood Casey Barricade is magic. It stops rust dead. It saved my old Winchester '94, which was starting to pit and rust in the humidity when I was in Virginia. Now I use it on every exposed non-working metal surface. It's excellent for bluing or browning. Stops corrosion in its track, and leaves a sort of a shell when it dries.
Great Job, Pleasant Oder
I use Barricade spray on all my guns and its great! It has a nice oder so you know it's there.
Good product
I have used Barricade on most of my firearms and it seems to protect very well from rust while firearm is in storage. I don't spray it right onto the firearm but spray a cotton patch and then wipe it on. If you let it dry for an hour or so you can polish off the firearm and it looks good and you can feel the Barricade is still there by touch. Once the firearm is heated up from shooting it seems to melt and not 'dry' again and must be put back on. But you will be cleaning the firearm after shooting anyway...no big deal. I like Barricade but I would not use it to lubricate hard to get to parts as I don't know if it stays where it should or not...it may be just great for that too but I don't know.
A WONDERFUL PRODUCT
I have been using Birchwood Casey Barricade for many years. None of my guns, tools, etc. have any rust on them as I ran a thin coat of barricade on them; I have gun that have been in the gun safe for two years with no rust that I coated with barricade. One can will last a long time. Try it--you will be glad you did.
