An item so small and yet one of the most effective solution.
Price is a little high but I get it (specialty & custom), shipping was fast too. Oh! did I mention the product works and a perfect solution to what I was looking for.
Well made product, one thing though...
Well made. Great fit. Exactly as shown in the photos. The one thing that would make it better is if they had one or two more rail lugs forward. The two lugs only grab the forward half of my Olight QD mount clamp. Works ok but it's not as snug as it should be. I'm guessing other brands of QD clamps might also benefit from an extra lug. The sling eye on the left side is going to work perfect once I get my sling set up.
A niche product well executed
Perfect for completing my dissipator build, gives a solid and low profile point to mount both a sling and a flashlight.
Best use of that pointless bayonet lug
There are several different attachments that convert the AR-15 bayonet lug into something that's actually useful to a civilian shooter. This one is a near-perfect balance of utility and strength, while keeping it all pretty, lightweight, and low profile. The single-slot Picatinny rail is just enough to accommodate a bipod or a flashlight (and I can confirm that it works with StreamLight Pro-Tac). The sling eyelet will work with HK or MASH hooks; but what really fits it like a glove is BFG ULoop, which effectively gives you QD capability in a much lighter and quieter package than the traditional push button QD slings. It does kinda sorta work with Magpul Paraclip - you can clip it on - but the diameter of the hole is too small for the clip to move freely, so it's not really a good fit for it. This can also be used in conjunction with Picatinny-mounted QD cups if you want to use a push-button sling with your A2 FSB. Fortis RAP, in particular, will give you a QD cup positioned perfectly for a side sling swivel. GG&G and VTAC also have similar options, but they're more expensive.
Great Solution to a niche problem
I purchased this product because I've got a Surefire M500 handguard with the LED navigation lights on the left side, and more conventional forward sling mounts like the Colt around the barrel mount, or just wrapping some wire through the FSB would interfere with the nav lights. This mount is low enough that it does not interfere at all with the nav lights, and is a fantastic solution for a front sling mount when you need something that won't interfere with a mounted accessory in the 8-11 O'clock position. The mount is VERY secure, I had to use a rubber mallet to get it into position- it's completely solid and not going anywhere. I wish they would delete the picatinny section, I am not going to use it, and I don't think it's a big enough section if I was; and I used the roll pin from the FSB sling loop to secure it, which I feel is a much better method than the included screw and nut.
GRSC Bayonet Lug Adapter
I bought the mount for my Colt M4 to attach a bipod. Works really well for that. I also wanted to attach my QD equipped sling but discovered it is not made for that. No big deal since I have a QD on the hand guard. I also used a roll pin to secure the adapter instead of the included screw and nut.
Interesting Novelty....
Basically for those who do not have a front end sling swivel to connect your sling on your tweaked out M4 Carbine. Seems to be sturdily made and stable. Should stand up to some rough field testing.
Outstanding Customer Support
I had a problem getting the adaptor to fit my Bushmaster Gas Piston. By the time I figured what was wrong and after several blows with a hammer I damaged the dang thing. I called GRSC and spoke with Ed Verdugo, told him what I did and explained the problem. He immediately offered to refund my money. I asked if he could just send me another one? He said sure. No hassle, Great Service.
