A good product to hold spare shells on the stock, great, but don't follow the instructions that say what drill bit to use for pilot holes and don't use the template provided. Why not you ask, the pilot bit recommended is larger than the dang screws provide to mount with and the template is nowhere near accurate in terms of the holes to drill into the stock. Don't wreck your stock and confirm before doing anything else.

Installing the Shotforce Shell Holder on my ATI fold-over stock for my Mossberg was a breeze. The holder keeps the shells securely and prevents them from falling out. However, they are a bit too tight to remove quickly. They will become looser over time. One thing to note is that the shotgun may not fit into a standard soft case because of the added height of the shell holder and the fold over top stock.

I installed the Shotforce Shell Holder on my Mossberg Maverick HS12 and am pleased with its performance. While the template holes were not an exact match, I adjusted the placement with a little bit of effort. Some reviews also suggested using a bolt and nut set instead of the provided screws, which I did, resulting in a very snug and secure fit. I also added a bit of purple Loctite for extra security. The shell holder holds the shells firmly and removal is relatively easy, although it may take a bit more time than other designs. Overall, I am happy with the shell holder; it is a great way to carry extra ammo at the range or in the field.

I installed this on my maverick 88. I bought the ATI top folding stock for it, and this completes it. Just for kicks, I reinstalled the factory stock and drilled it to accept this holder too. It fits perfectly and doesn't get in the way, and it conforms just fine to the stock curve. It holds anything from 2.5-inch shells to 3&1/2 inch shells without a problem. I installed it onto my ATI stock in less than 10 minutes in between shots. Shots of what however, I will leave up to your imagination.

Even if I hadn't read the instructions, I think that it still would have been an easy install, and at most, it would have always been just a 6 min or less install. The ammo holder does what it was designed to do; it holds five extra shells of ammo. So we have a product that is easy to install, holds ammo, and fits on to the top folding stocks. Nice product.

I’m surprised how flexible the shell holder is, but in the right way. It’s made of tough rubber-type compound that flexes enough to tightly fit different shells but not fatigue by doing so. I haven’t had it long (and installation was a breeze) but can tell that it will last through plenty of use and weather. Lightweight and robust but plenty flexible so you it will hold steady without feeling like you’re fighting to get shells in or out.
