This is a costly addition to your AR-10 and you need it if you have the front ramp sight. The flip-up sights are ingenious. You have the tiny peep and large ghost rings sandwiched together, so it defaults to the peep sight. For the ghost ring, simply flip the peep sight back to expose it. The sight height is correct when you go to zero at the range. The quality of the base is good and it is a tight fit over the Picatinny rail. I had to tap mine with a rubber mallet to position it on the rail. However the actual length is off about a 1/4" too long up front. That is just enough to not allow me to pull back the handguard release ring. This is a serious design flaw that needs to be addressed if they continue to make this product. But like AR-10 carry handles, there is very little demand by owners to keep the stock iron sights, which is a shame. When worse comes to worse, you always default back to your iron sights.
