IWC Thorntail 45 Degree Offset 1913 Adaptive Light MOUNT-N-SLOT
Impact Weapons Components THORNTAIL Offset Adaptive Light Mount is designed to extend a weapon light several inches beyond the end of the forend or track system, allowing the shooter to place the support hand farther forward on the weapon, increasing control, speed, and accuracy while increasing usable rail space for additional accessories. The Thorntail is ambidextrous, providing up to 8 mounting solutions on one quad rail system, while the cantilever design places the light's bezel above the barrel and also in front of the front sight base, eliminating shadows in reduced- and no light situations. The Impact Weapons Components THORNTAIL were developed in collaboration with Haley strategic partners and made right here in America by hard-working Americans in Impact Weapons Components. The THORNTAIL was designed to allow for any Weapon Light to be installed outside the forend and attaches to any 1913 Mil Standard Picatinny Rail.
It's CNC machined for Billet 606T6 Aluminum and includes a hard coat anodized matte finish.

THORNTAIL Offset 1913 Adaptive Light MOUNT-N-SLOT was designed to expand the mounting locations and illumination capability of rail-mounted weaponlights.
Ambidextrous and Cantilevered design provides 8 different mounting positions and 4 additional adjustments fore / aft on a quad rail system. This enables the Operator to position the rail mounted weaponlight up to several inches beyond the end of the forend or rail system allowing the shooter to place the support hand farther forward on the weapon, improving the shooter's control, speed and accuracy while increasing usable space for attaching IR devices, lasers, grips, etc.
45 Degree Offset design places the bezel of the weaponlight to reduce barrel shadowing during critical low light situations.
Can also be used as a 45 Offset mounting platform for BUIS.

Ordered this thorntail 1913 offset light mount with the hsp wml. After about six months and mounting on several different rifles, the mount began to crack at the base. I received a call from the owner of Impact Weapons Components. Long story short, I probably overtightened the mount and caused the issue. Regardless, he sent me a brand new mount! Outstanding customer support and way to stand behind their product. Very pleased with Impact Weapons Components.

Simple to adjust and install, the definition of the KISS principle. Works fantastic with my Inforce WML mounted, it allows me to get out on the rail and drive the gun. Outstanding product, I will be recommending it to anyone that will listen.

Great 45 degree light mount/extension for any 1913 rail system. It works great for my setup because I can get the lens of a scout flashlight to meet the end of a 16" barrel from a 12" rail. It does exactly what I want it to do.
