*NOTE: The Magpul AK Handguard is a direct replacement for standard AK-47/AKM/AK-74 pattern Handguards and utilizes the existing Handguard retaining cap with (or without) sling loop.
Due to the wide range of tolerances of your typical AK, minor fitting may be required. Not compatible with Yugo pattern rifles or RPK style receivers.

Magpul moe akm handguard The Magpul moe akm handguard fits as advertised, on a AK, requires a bit of leverage & grunting. Shade a little lighter than Eastern Block "plum." Plastic seems a little cheap but very happy with the AK handguard.....Kudos to MSP for fast shipping!!!

The Magpul AKM handguard fits very snug on my wasr. The foregrip needed a decent amount of pressure to fit, but that's the way it should be. And the gas tube cover didn't take to long using a ten in crescent wrench.

I ordered this after doing some online research that indicated it was going to take some "fitting" using a file and sandpaper, perhaps even a Dremel to mount on a Draco. Well, it took zero "fitting," the lower pressed on, and I gave it a tap with a mallet to make sure it was all the way seated. The upper guard fits perfectly. No fitting was required. Ten-minute install including removing the old upper guard from the gas tube and installing a new one. Excellent upgrade and an improvement on stock handguards.

Installed the magpul akm handguard on my WASR 10 in just a few minutes. I needed a rubber mallet to tap the lower handguard into place. The upper handguard was challenging to align with. The gas tube wouldn't sit properly so that I couldn't lock the lever into place. After a bit of trial and error, I was able to align it, but even then, I had to push down on the gas tube to lock the lever. The lower handguard contains an integrated heat shield, but make no mistake, the heat shield is intended to prevent the polymer from melting, not to keep your hand from burning. You will need to wear a glove or use a grip of some kind if you plan to shoot fast. Speaking of grips, the lower handguard has two sections for M-LOK panels, which is enough for a vertical grip, which only requires 1 section, but not for an angled foregrip, which requires three parts. Not a big deal, just a note. Overall I'm pretty happy with this handguard. It's not any better or worse than some of the other handguards out there, but it is inexpensive and relatively easy to install. There are no screws, and you're still able to get to the gas tube if you need to, for those that shoot corrosive ammo.

The moe akm handguard is very easy to install. I did not use any tools or looked at the manual on how to install it. I have C39 v2 AK 47, and it is a beauty with this handguard.

I installed the Magpul MOE AKM Handguard on my Russian SGL-21. Fits tightly with no play, looks good, has more room for the hand, better heat shielding, just a superior AK handguard overall. Of course, it helps to install it on a QUALITY RIFLE..... I've been running AK's since about '08, and I think this is the best non-railed handguard upgrade available and a vast improvement over the wood or polymer military ones.

I put this Magpul MOE AKM Handguard on my Hungarian AMD 63 Ak 47. It dramatically upgraded my rifle. I did have to do some fitting. I YouTubed how to do it, and it was straightforward. The AK handguard allows me to shoot without burning my hand. I highly recommend it!!

I purchased the Magpul MOE AKM Handguard to install in my install on my WASR. The fit and finish are perfect, no slop at all. Installation of the AK Handguard was very straightforward needing only a couple of tool-free knocks to seat it in place. Please note this will not fit on an AK with a milled receiver, it was NOT designed to fit on that. If you don't know what kind of Kalashnikov you have, you should do some investigation before trying to modify it.
