A.R.M.S. #40L-P Low Profile Rear Sight (500-600 meter)
The P stands for precision, .50 MOA, = minute of angle means at 100 meters, each click of the windage knob moves the point of impact 1/2" left or right. The sight also has new notches above the round apertures for faster CQB engagements inside of 50 meters and also for long range 500-600 meter.
Designed for and selected by Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center; and currently under contract for use by Special Operations Forces.
When folded down, height is only .610 from the top of the receiver to the top of the sight in folded position. Notice the added feature of the captivated nut to prevent loss.

I had troubles finding the precision "P" version of this sight, but Mounting Solutions Plus had it in stock. Sight was in factory sealed package, arrived securely boxed, and shipping was faster than I expected. This sight is spendy, but well worth the price. Build quality is exact with zero wiggles. Great addition to the A.R.M.S. folding front sight.

I really appreciate to have metallic BUIS and not a polymer one. It is mounted in co-witness with an Aimpoint on my M4 without more setting. It does not bring so much extra weight for such a device. It is very easy to install. Deployment for use is done easily from one hand. Even if I did not use this feature yet, I selected L-P version instead of L one in order to have 0.5 MOA instead of 0.75 but no need to set the horizontal widage. It offers both combat and precise sight and even other 'long range" ones with the notch. It is not a real "cons" but there is not at all elevation setting. The locking system that allows to unlock and deploy this sight in one hand movement become a little more difficult to manipulate in order to foldand lock down the sight in the same manner (I put my 2 hands !) The price is not excessive but should be a little bit "lower' for such a small device. It 100% complies my requirement : I like it on my M4 !

This is a good looking sight that folds away securely to only a tad over a half inch from the rail to the top of the sight. As stated in the product description this is a very tight sight. Great precision. I love this sight. However, it doesn't lock in the up position and it has a very - I can't stress this enough - VERY slight wiggle from side to side, which doesn't cause the sights to lose zero, I believe due to the spring pressure. Plus, since the sight doesn't lock in the up position, it easily moves back and forth if you brush it against a strap or loose clothing or such, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, it just bothers me a bit. I would expect a sight to lock in the up position as a default. Those two minor factors are the reason for the 4 star rating. I'd recommend the sight but only with the information added that I stated above.
