Dueck Defense Rapid Transition Sights [RTS] Front & Rear 45 Degree Offset Sights
For those who own AR-15 or M16 type rifles, the optical sights offer superior performance at long ranges which make them perfect for hunting or target shooting. However, the iron sights which are designed for close range are often blocked by the addition of the optics or a shadow is produced on the optical image which results in a problematic issue for long range shooting. In such situations it can be difficult to transition between the iron sights and optical sights or vice versa.
The Dueck Defense Rapid Transition Sights (RTS) are designed to provide shooters with a quick, easy transition between long and short range target acquisition. This device will greatly increase the efficiency and effectiveness of going between each sight in all types of situations.
Created by Barry Dueck, the Director of the Suppressor Division at SureFire, as well as being a top flight gun shooter in his own regard, the sights he manufactured fit directly on the Picatinny rail and are offset from the center by about 45 degree. This unique position allows for the easy transition between optical and iron sights if the target is closing and vice versa if the target is moving away. Plus, for competitions when multiple targets at different distances are presented, the shooter can easily transition between their optical and iron sights at will.
All that is needed is simply to move the weapon with your wrist and lock onto the target with the appropriate sights. You do not need to make any manual adjustments or even remove your hand from the weapon. Instead, you get to enjoy a clear field of vision when going back and forth between sights.

Best 45 degree iron sights

I have a number of these sights. The standard version is for RH shooters however, Dueck Defense also has a LH version of their same RTS trilogy of sights (standard, fiber optic and Trijicon night sights). Additionally, the RTS sights are available in Black and FDE. As you would imagine, the RH RTS installs offset to the Right, therefore, the rifle is rotated approx. 45 deg. CCW to use. The LH variant would install with the offset to the Left, necessitating a CW cant of 45 deg. to use. The Dueck Defense RTS sights are manufactured and finished with impeccable quality of craftsmanship and made in the USA (at least all the ones I purchased were...at the time).

I purchased these sights in order to have backup iron sights on a Primary Weapons System MK216 with Steiner T5xi 3-15x Scope with Larue Mount. I preferred the offset sights since conventional backup iron sights would have required me to remove the scope in order to use them and an offset Red Dot Sight would have been more expensive. I figured there would be a "learning curve" utilizing the offset sights but it really is amazing how quickly and intuitively you learn to slightly "roll" the rifle to view the offset sights. I would not hesitate to purchase the product again and they appear to be a quality manufactured product.

These sights are great for 3Gun or if you like to use a higher power scope on your AR. The effort needed to cant the rifle is minimal, and the sights are exactly the right height, your cheek weld isn't affected at all. A trip to the range and a few presentation drills are all you'll need. The sights are directly over the bore, and the sight radius is unmatched without clamping a front sight to the barrel. You can tell a shooter designed these.

The best back up I found for my scope for 3 gun shooting. Going to try a second set on my patrol rifle. The Dueck Defense sights are a great quality, I bang the front AR sight around pretty hard, and it has never moved.

This is the BEST AR sight for three gun match competition. I first used the JP Tactical sight, but I never could get a clear sight picture because of the short sight radius. That was a problem with my eyes, not the sight. With the Dueck Defense sighs, you can mount the rear sight back behind the ejection port and the front sight all the way out front at the end of the float tube for an 18-inch sight radius. Excellent quality and well built by a great fellow three gunners!

The picture shown is a bit deceptive because with a flat top AR, you can mount the back sight at the very back of the rail. These are ideal if you have an optic. The only improvement I could suggest is a fiberoptic post, which I added to mine. The RTS sights are rock solid and very accurate at 100 yards or less.

These AR Sights are very durable and work great as Back Up Sights. The offset is perfect and the transition is easy. Although, for the price it should include a front sight tool.

After reading the reviews here, I would like to add that there are two other variants of the Dueck Defense RTS weapons sighting systems not sold here (but should be). One with fiber optics as well as their top tier RTS with Trijicon tritium night sights (front and rear). I have the Trijicon variant on my ARs. The Dueck Defense RTS system is ALWAYS ready, nothing to be deployed from a closed position. In other words, in a self-defense/tactical situation, it only takes a split second to roll your rifle/carbine 45 degrees to remain engaged, all the while not losing sight of your objective.
