Good item!
The starting point for mounting more modern scopes on older rifles that use mounting points on the sides of their receivers, or which have no factory attachment points at all, in which case your rifle will need to be drilled & tapped. Mine already was, so the base was firmly attached and is now working well.
Marlin 80 Side Mount
I have used this side-mount scope base for a few months now on my Marlin 80. It fit perfectly, easy to mount, and matched well with the scope rings. Works very well with the gun.
fit perfectly on my JC Higgins .22 rifle
Excellent product, fit perfectly. It allowed me to mount a new, currently produced Scope on my old (circa the early 1950s) JC Higgins .22 rifle. No modifications were required; it was basically "plug and play." I would recommend it to anyone wanting to "upgrade" an excellent older plinker.
Remington 550-1 side mount
I purchased one of these to fit on my Remington 550-1, which was tapped for an old Weaver N2 scope mount sometime in its life. All 4 of the attachment holes lined up perfectly, and the contour fit the receiver well. The supplied screws even matched the tapped holes, so it would seem that Weaver did not change the screws in the last 50 years. The scope mount does require the shell deflector screw to be removed if you want to take the deflector off, as it can no longer slide backward, but that is minor.
Weaver #2side mount base
Holes may matched up perfect on Winchester model 74. In included mounting screws as well.
Remington 514 scope mount
Used on my Remington 514. Allows bolt handle clearance when used with a 3/4" scope and holds perfect zero.
Mossberg 46b scope mount
Lightweight black anodized aluminum construction, No gunsmithing required.
Excellent product
MSP is beneficial to find the right scope mount I needed. The Weaver #2 Side Mount Base is an outstanding product, fit well. It enabled me to mount a new Scope on my old (circa early 1950s) JC Higgins .22 rifle. No changes were required; it was essentially "plug and play." I would recommend it to anyone wanting to "upgrade" an older plinker.
Weaver #2 Side Mount Scope Base
The mount arrived quickly and fit perfectly on my Winchester Model 74 using the existing holes on the receiver. No additional fitting or filing required; the attachment took about one minute. I used the phone to order and received very prompt and friendly service.
