I used this weaver base on the carry handle of my old Pre Ban M16 with a carry handle to Mount my Aimpoint PRO red dot. Good secure fit. Perfect alignment. I was on paper after mounting the PRO. I pulled it back off and used a little blue lock tite to secure the mounting screw once I was happy with the fit and set up. Time will tell. I'll need to put a few rounds down range to prove it out. Confidence is good.

Overall, an awesome piece, just unfortunate the fit is not tight enough (should be a degree of friction...there is not). I have a similar mounting rail system from long ago and was very pleased with it's snug fit but decided to replace it as the unit had only 4 cutouts total. If perfect "zero" is not required, I highly recommend this product.
